Caldera has my vote. I’m tired of “transportation” funding that funds every damn big spender’s pet project - except roads.

How do you feel the bumps when you are high and going 4 mph?

Lefties love stealing our money to waste on their projects.

Take for example Governor Hickenlooper’s recent budget request. Nowhere in his $30.5 billion 2018-2019 budget proposal is any general fund money allocated for roads and bridges. This is also not surprising, as none of his previous budget requests have called for general fund spending on these critical projects.

It should be noted that during his administration, general fund revenue outpaced population by four to one.

I despise Hickenlooper.

A couple of years ago my son and DIL did a cross country road trip NC to AZ. They were stunned at what poor condition of the majority of roads they traveled.

“21% state sales tax”

Twenty-one percent?! WTF?

Okay, Colorado conservatives, it’s time to turn out. It’s time to haul our weary butts down to the State Capitol to peacefully petition for redress of our grievances.

Who’s with me?

They can fix everything by going on a “road diet”. That is the catch phrase here, anyway. That means taking a 3-lane road and making it a 2-lane road with bike lanes. That is supposed to make everything better.

I think it said a 21% increase, not 21% sales tax. Either would be bad enough, but 21% sales tax would be just about enough to keep anyone from buying any taxed item in that state. And the roads probably still wouldn’t get fixed.

You are correct, sir. It is a 21% increase.

I am still incensed.

It’s time to assemble at the Colorado State Capitol. Who’s with me?

Calif politicians pushed thru a huge gas tax increase with zero money going to fix the roads. It was to be used for everything else. There will be a ballot measure to repeal the tax this November.
