Lennon stated: "'Imagine', which says: 'Imagine that there was no more religion, no more country, no more politics,' is virtually the Communist Manifesto, even though I'm not particularly a Communist and I do not belong to any movement."

That's nothing. "Hey Jude" gets my vote for the outro that goes way too long.
“Imagine” someone so drugged out as to forget, or possibly not even know of, the 100% SECULAR mass-murders of tens of millions by Hitler, Stalin and Mao.

I have to do dishes.
One of McCartney's more recent appearances was in "Carpool Karaoke". It's a fun diversion, if you really don't mind the 45 year old songs. (available on YT)
Not a Beatles song.
Some early 20th century writer noted the increasing lack of morality coupled with the decline in religious grounding, and said "Being a humanist is hard work".
Nihilists/"Humanists"/SJWs don't think the Ten Commandments apply to them. Or in Lennon's case, throw in "artistes".
"War is not healthy for children and other living things."
I'm pretty sure that's when I first decided that liberals were useless. That poster and Jane Fonda did it for me.
;^)
Yes, identity. The nations are not an amorphous blob. All nations have made mistakes—no exceptions. More than one nation has reformed and dissolved again.
I’m completely grateful for G-d’s unchanging decision on Israel. I’m also grateful for this refuge of my forefathers, though the people of the old country have streamed in to impose their influence again for about 150 years.
Imagine no John Lennon
It's easy if you try!
Lennon was an “artistic entertainer/musician”, not a philosopher or politician or economist.
That said, I don’t take the “words” too seriously...unless of course you play it backwards :)
Good one! Amen to that.
My mom hates that song.
omg “Imagine” is a rather dreary tome music-wise and just a step above his dreadful Christmas song and one of my least favorite Lennon solo singles. OTOH “Instant Karma” was truly one of my favorites, that slap-back echo, slick production and gutsy vocal with a lot of punch. Sonic Heaven.
I think I might have been in the Fifth grade when I bought the “Karma” 45rpm it was hot on the radio at the time. That line “Who the hell do you think you are...” made it especially forbidden and desirable to acquire!
