Judicial Watch ^ | 21 August 2018

Citing a shortage of affordable housing in "higher opportunity neighborhoods," the Trump administration is strong arming private landlords nationwide into renting to low-income tenants that get government vouchers....Even after the Trump administration took over, HUD has continued funding many of Barack Obama’s wasteful, socialist programs.

But Trump is racists and hates poor people. I know this is true because the msm tells me so.

Sounds like Obama tactics, if accurate.

One reason why landlords dislike section 8 housing is that too many tenants trash the property, have a chip on their shoulder, and make trouble for other tenants.

Ben Carson needs to fire the socialists in HUD immediately.
Escort them handcuffed off of the premises.

I did not think President Trump’s administration was going to pull that crap, but maybe it is different than Obama’s plan.

f that s...obviously never owned any rental property. biggest problems now is the biggest competitor in renting and buying up desirable rental property is the gov’t and HUD itself...insider info is also always fed to minorities anytime there is a bidding process that is touched off when attempting to purchase additional rental property. Really odd how many time in a final bid goes to highest bidder by a deadline hour...the minority can always out bid you by a couple of hundred dollars...poor poor Trump. The bleeding heart side keeps slipping out...

The value of property is determined by the class of the people living in it. If you rent to “the poor”, the value of you property is zeroed out. This is known. Nothing worse than Dunning Kruger gas lighters.

Agreed.

They have no interest in the upkeep of the property. Income issues aside, they’d also be the ones that fail the applications process (usually background investigation).

Then again you have property owners that welcome those vouchers because they own slum like properties and those are the only renters they can get.

Looks like more Obama holdovers in HHS trying to do things under the radar.

Firing time.

Once Section 8 starts moving in, it’s over.

All the other tenants will move out as soon as possible.

I’ve heard some landlords simply don’t take section 8.

Once someone gets a section 8 voucher, he/she may then find it’s tough to use that voucher. So then many end up in bad neighborhoods, from what I hear.

Then again, many of us have made sacrifices and saved money etc so we could live in nice areas. We have earned it through working and saving and sacrifices. Is it fair to us to force too many section 8 housing units in our nice areas?

They used to call this block-busting. Now the government does it.

I have become quite the expert on how to make sure my rental properties FAIL the mandatory Section 8 eligibility criteria.

All simple stuff, easily reversible.

Just go get their checklist and do things like take the stove/oven out (for a bit), remove electrical covers, etc.

Needs to be enough to make sure a blind inspector won’t accidentally pass it.

I’ve heard there are a lot of advantages, like you get paid directly by the govt. If they gave the rent money to the tenants, well, you know.

You can bet the Democrats want to force landlords to accept Section 8. It’s only a matter of time.
