I know a number of fellow retirees who work part time jobs just to stay active, not because they need the $$$...so the money is a bonus.

There's new, huge Amazon facility being built a few miles from me. Once they get up and going, I just might apply for a part time job for the winter months to help pay for my summer time fun.....

You forget, Obama changed "full time" so that now it's just 30 hours a week. They'd have 38 hours a week except for that change which was done because Obama and his crowd aren't in touch with reality and figured business would have to pay benefits rather than increase headcount with more people working fewer hours.

If Obama hadn't been so stupid he believed his own propaganda he could have looked at even the fake unemployment numbers his minions were putting out and known up front that there were tons of people anxious to even get a 28 hour a week job.

"Full Time" needs to be changed back to 40 hours a week if it hasn't been already otherwise articles like this one don't make sense because you can't tell if they use 30 or 40 hours a week as their definition of "full time".

The $15 min wage that the libs are asking for equated to $31,200. Great money for a single H.S. grad...get yourself a roommate making the same amount and life is good.

But...$31,200 as a single parent with two or three kids? A single parent who can’t get a better job because they are in their 30s or older, and have no marketable skills other than general labor, and who do not have the financial support of a spouse, equals food stamps.

Some ideas seem just and reasonable for a few seconds, but then the brain should kick in and ask "Then what?". So, corporations will be required to cover government allowances that are going to their employees who, paid minimum wage and/or for part time work, qualify for such. How long will those employees be kept on after that mandate kicks in? How many seconds will it take their accountants to do the math?

To be a Socialist one must by definition ignore the fact that Newton's Third Law, "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" applies to Economics as well as Physics. And a brain being required as well, Bernie and his followers are out of luck on two counts.

People who work for Amazon, Walmart and McDonalds do not receive food stamps. If they do, they are breaking the law in some way. To portray it as though this is fact is evil. But who ever said Bernie Sanders is on the up and up.

So if the government decides to be more generous with benefits (even beyond current ludicrous levels) Businesses will have to match it.

The astute reader will note that throughout this entire Kabuki Theater event, no one has even noted food stamp thresholds!

IOW, how much does one have to earn to qualify? I am sure there are tables somewhere that will put dollars to the
Sanders claim.
