Donald Trump: Google, Facebook, and Twitter ‘Better Be Careful’
Breitbart ^ | 08/28/18 | Charlie Spiering

President Donald Trump continued challenging big tech companies on Tuesday, warning them about censoring content from conservatives. “I think what Google and what others are doing – if you look at what is going on with Twitter and if you look at what’s going on in Facebook, they better be careful because you can’t do that to people,” Trump said. “You can’t do it.”

I seriously propose new civil rights addition to protected class status of freedom of speech and political affiliation to prohibit discrimination in the stream of commerce and pubic accommodation. Why can we not discriminate in our private business based on race but it is fine if I am for Trump?

Part of this phenomenon is that tech companies receive a lot more complaints from vindictive leftists than conservatives, who don’t feel as threatened by free speech. Big companies think that if a lot of people are unhappy about something that happens in their website, they are going to lose money.

So let these operators go to a rating system similar to what the movies use - instead of censoring material they think is objectionable, let them label it “offensive” or some such, and put it behind a wall of some kind where people would have to sign in and attest they were more than 21 years old before seeing the stuff - other material could be labeled “liberal”, “conservative” or whatever they wanted - let the viewing public decide for themselves what the algorithms were parceling out, don’t decide for them what they can or can’t handle - you’re no smarter than they are......

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Since the backbone of the internet was build w taxpayer funds (Milnet), this would apply.

Just imagine a cake shop that posted a sign “no cake for Hillary voters”.

Then Leviathan would swing into action.

Anyone remember that if a University allows students to take Federal student loans, that University has to comply with all Federal policies on discrimination etc?

How much does FB, Google, Amazon and others make on Federal contracts?

I want a law that no Federal contract can be awarded to a company that censors speech.

Private company? Ok. Then I want a federal law that no federal money can be spent on any company that censors or forbids participation based on political beliefs.

Slip an amendment into this upcoming appropriations bill.

That bakery is back in court already. They never give up.

Private company?

Yep that argument is getting old. Do you think we should allow a cooperation to sell secret technology to our enemies? Of course not, but they are a private company, why not?

The technology companies that many here are defending are pure and simple enemies of the state and should be treated as such.

Remember the Boland Amendment? One man inserted something into a “must pass” bill that forbade any DOD dollars to be spent on the Contras.

It would only take ONE Congressman to insert an amendment in THIS upcoming budget process that no contract for information services, data storage and processing, research, etc can be awarded to ANY company that censors speech based on political views.

No Federal contracts for Amazon, Google, Apple, Facebook.
A simple amendment to a must pass bill is all it would take.

This technique has been upheld dozens of times. No federal student aid can go to a university that doesn’t do the whole EIEIO thing and title 9. If a State doesn’t adopt federal rules they get their highway money.

You can do it.

But that makes you a publisher.

Publishers control content, so publishers are responsible for content.

The $$$ these companies make on Federal contracts is sizable.
I know for a fact that both Intel and Microsoft have been doing semi-secret work for the security arm of the Federal Gov for decades.
Most likely NSA but I can’t be sure on that.

BAN ON FREE SPEECH

Google & Facebook have IP Intellectual Property protections. Their software patents now guarentee a ban on free speech in communication.

Google Facebook own a monopoly ban on free speech over the internet.

Actually, FB in effect banned me a couple of years ago by not allowing me to log on. This also has the effect of preventing me from cancelling my FB ID. I assume my FB web page still exists. I want it to be deleted but have no way of doing that.

I have moved on to minds.com.
