Moderates don’t win elections any more, from either side. They’re just following the DJT playbook. You have to be a bit extreme to fire up the base and get that “grassroots” effect.

Heck, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton were both said to be the new breed of southern politicians decades ago.
The Republican Party never became racist, the real “New South” is one in which southerners are inclined to vote Republican and accept Republican ideals. Out of 200 Democrat governors, senators, and congressmen from the south, only 2 - one senator (Strom Thurmand) and one congressman - switched to the Republican Party. The others died identifying as Democrats.Richard Nixon was accused of running a “southern strategy” in 1968, but in fact the Deep South went for Wallace in ’68, and Nixon won in California and plenty of other states, including the rest of the south.. The Electoral College wasn’t nearly as close as the popular vote in that year.
Even with Wallace winning the deep south, Nixon won the presidency with 301 EV.
Sounds to me like we already won the Florida governors race.
The “New South” demands whites sit in the back of the bus, train, or plane.
They want segregated superior facilities- like bathrooms, beaches, and swimming pools.
Exceptions made for ‘randy-ferals’ hunting to ‘date’ white girls.

The pendulum hasn’t swung as far to the left - socialism, communism, Marxism, leftism etc - as its momentum is carrying it. They’re going to wreck the USA, and in a few election cycles, we’ll have to put it back together.

The Democratic Party in FL like in the rest of the South - is a brown, minority party.
White men fled to the GOP. Abrams and Gillum are gonna he beaten soundly - not because they’re black but because they’re extreme leftists.
And that doesn’t play well in Dixie. It ain’t New York or California.

The Dems are electing hard core left wingers. This will only turn off the more moderate voters in their camp.
Independents are going to move to the GOP in record numbers come November.
This might also be an indication that the center of the DNC didn’t enthusiastically want to engage politically in these primaries?
I’m guessing that come November, that the Looney left turns out 99%, but the rest of the traditional DNC voters are either sitting at home, or voting for the GOP.
In today's extreme left, anti-white bias is strong, even among white leftists. I would say that it's even stronger among black leftists, who can support BLM with more authentic feeling, although I'm not particularly accusing Abrams and Gillum. It just goes with the territory.
As to your comment about whites fleeing the Dem Party... I don't understand why it isn't nationwide.
