Bishop Connare was educated at the former St. Joseph Hall, a minor seminary that now serves as the retreat center (The Bishop William G. Connare Center) near Greensburg, in 1964. It was named after Connare MORE THAN TWO DECADES AFTER HE DIED. He left office in 1987. He died in 1995. Until at least 2007 the place was called the St. Joseph Conference Center: http://www.post-gazette.com/local/westmoreland/2007/02/04/St-Joseph-s-Center-in-Westmoreland-County-is-a-favorite-place-for-religious-conferences-now-it-s-also-a-school-for-State-Police-trainees/stories/200702040283
