'Lynch mobs' are now allowed to impose their values on us.

The terrorists have won.

Crimes against property are often viewed as being victim-less

When vandals set the standards for the community, we are all victims.

That goes for graffiti 'art' or destroying public or private property.

Just like in the Durham statue incident, no one will be prosecuted.

Correct. It is same lack of police protection ( politicians ordering good cops to stand down? In Chicago, nyc, washDC, San Fransicko, Oakland, bezerkeley, even San Jose. Be sure to avoid such places or be prepared to protect yourself if u have to go there

Need to make sure our plainclothes guys are really looking out for counter protesters to arrive

Hmm, I wonder if these plainclothes guys were the instigators?

He is a very, very small man.

What's happened to local laws against destruction of public property???

There's certainly videos of the action, and certainly a number of leaders and members of the mob are well-known to the local cops and to school security officers.

Isn't there ANYONE in this town to file complaints....or is it Chicken Hill, North Carolina? Pick out a select few perps, throw the book at 'em and send 'em to the town hoosegow for as long as the law allows.

This is the height of approval of criminal vandalism, insane absurdity....and dereliction of duty on the part of law enforcement.

In a country that still believed in law and order, this guy would have been fired the next day. I ask again, why should anyone obey the law. The people that make the laws encourage others to break them, the Justice Dept is corrupt and its higher ups break the law with impunity, judges ignore the law and rule on their political views — if those whose job is to enforce it don’t support it, why should anyone.

Only you and I will be held to account. Time to refresh the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Too many chief’s are jellyfish.

But when you are at the top, there is always some SJW trying to destroy your agency and nowadays, they are pretty damn effective.

The police chief that stands up to this communist oxygen stealers need vigorous citizen support. This will enable and encourage others to be stalwart. Otherwise they will continue to cave to snowflake brigade.

I suppose the confederate leaders were pro-slavery and since they are legitimate part of American history, their statues belong in Museums, not on streets.

When I visited Berlin and other cities in Germany, I do not recall seeing a single statue of Hitler on the streets. But the German museums have plenty of Hitler’s history. I walked all over Rome and do not recall seeing any statues of Mussolini in the streets either.

However the removal of any public statue should not be done by a mob. It should be processed by the local authorities in an orderly manner.

A public display of any historical figure in a street statue should match the current political philosophy of the country. Just my honest opinion.

This was a statue dedicated to the soldiers in the UNC area who served honorably in the confederacy. To compare this to Hitler or Mussolini is disgusting.

Confederacy was for slavery. Nothing more sordid, disgusting, anti-human being, and cruel.

This is for the soldiers who fought and died. Those on both sides are honored as American veterans. Tearing down statues is something you would expect from the Taliban.

I already said all Confederate statues should NOT be removed by mobs. Instead they shoud be removed by the government and placed in Museums as Germany & Italy has done.

There is no need to glorify anyone who fought to keep slavery alive. It is the most disgusting & vile human practice ever executed.

I understand slavery is evil. If those soldiers fought to save slavery, they are partners in evil deeds. All confederate statues are coming down, one way or other. Because we in America do not condone evil.
