Why you see so many Beto O’Rourke yard signs, and so few for Ted Cruz
Houston Chronicle ^ | August 31, 2018 | Julian Gill

The reason for the flood of "Beto" yard signs supporting U.S. senatorial candidate Beto O'Rourke may go beyond the El Paso Democrat's popularity among his base.

O'Rourke's signs litter yards across the state, while signs for his opponent Senator Ted Cruz appear much harder to come by.

Cruz's campaign manager, Jeff Roe, told the Texas Tribune this week that he has an overall aversion to campaign yard signs because they're ineffective. He said he prefers to spend money on other advertisements, such as direct mail, door knocking, phone banks and television ads.

"It would be an easier campaign to win if we just used yard signs, and whoever wins is who puts up the most yard signs," Jeff Roe told The Tribune.

Isn't it a bit odd that all of the yard signs seemed to suddenly pop up?

I was told by the Local Republican Office that the RNC did not order any Ted Cruz yard signs and the local offices had to order them causing them to come in late. Though the websites say there is a cost for each sign there is no set cost; more of a ‘contribution’ if you can afford it. I am picking up a set this Tuesday from my local office. While I’m still teed off at Sen Cruz for his abysmal behavior towards Pres Trump after Election 2018, there is NO WAY that I want Beto to replace him.

...eek. Meant to say Election 2016. If Sen Cruz survives Election 2018 he’d better back Pres Trump 100%!

I can’t see ever putting up a yard sign for a conservative candidate again with so many leftard crazies on the loose.

In a word, yes. Worry until all the votes are counted. Don’t ever get complacent. We were blessed beyond belief by Hillary’s staff being so complacent. We should NEVER put in ourselves in that position. If Republicans did not learn that lesson via the Obama messes they will NEVER learn to be vigilante about voting.

Ted needs a new campaign manager.

Jeff Roe is a slacker.

Phone banks? I’ve seen the cRuz’ previous phone banks....pitiful.

Direct mailers. Has anyone received one? I haven’t.

TV ads? Again...has anyone seen a cRuz campaign ad? I haven’t.

We’ll see what the next couple of months bring.

Cruz has his problems but he’s no where near as bad as electing a dem!

I think he would make a fine SCOTUS justice.

Should we worry?

Yes. Always.

Treat every election as if we are behind.

Nobody worried in Alabama.

In the recent primary here in Arizona, there were WAY more Kelli Ward signs and bumper stickers than McSally. But McSally had a huge television and radio ad presence, and she won.

Sans-Culotte, while just a bit hesitant to put up a sign in this time of sheer lunacy, I feel like I have to stand up for what I believe. There are Beto signs on each end of my street. I need to up the intelligence quotient of my street. LOL
