There is one thing that I’ll give Aimless Amy credit for. She puts herself out there. She knows how to campaign - even when not running for re-election. Yes, most of the stuff she does is fluff but sadly enough, that’s what most voters notice.

Norma Coleman could have and should have taken some cues from her. In his six years in the Senate, he was all but invisible. You never saw him on TV. You never saw him at the State Fair on the first day greeting early Fairgoers. You never saw him giving a Silver Star to an old vet that didn’t get one in WWII or Korea. If he were more visible, he’d likely still be in the Senate today.

The way Amy attends to the small fluffy things is (a) indicative of her IQ but (b) it wins her elections. It wouldn’t hurt a bit if our candidates and incumbents acted more like her in that one respect.
