John Kerry On John Edwards: Vice Presidential Qualities ‘Didn’t Measure Up’ 7:08 AM 09/03/2018 Jason Hopkins | Energy Investigator

Former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry suggested in a Sunday CBS News interview that he regrets choosing John Edwards as his vice presidential running mate during the 2004 presidential elections.

In an interview on “Face The Nation,” former secretary of state John Kerry answered in the affirmative when asked if he regretted picking then-North Carolina Democratic Sen. John Edwards as his running mate.

“I write in the book about the qualities that you are looking for when you choose a vice president and I think when you articulate those qualities and then you measure what took place against the qualities that I very much lay out there that you’re looking for, it — it didn’t measure up. It wasn’t what we had hoped for,” he told host Margaret Brennan. “So there was some disappointment in that.”

The “book” Kerry referred to is his soon-to-be released memoir: “Every Day is Extra.” The upcoming autobiography details Kerry’s life as a soldier, Vietnam War protester and subsequent political career. The subject of his life was discussed at length during his exchange with Brennan. The timing of his memoir stokes further speculation that the longtime Massachusetts senator is mulling another presidential bid — something he did not deny.

“I’m really not thinking about it,” he said when asked point-blank if will run in 2020. “Talking about 2020 right now is a total distraction and waste of time. What we need to do is focus on 2018.”

Kerry — who is living on Martha’s Vineyard for the time being — made a number of other notable comments during the interview.

So that’s why Lurch is back - he’s shilling his book.

I don’t recall anyone caring much about Edwards in deciding their vote. In almost all cases by election time people are focused 99% on the presidential candidates. Kerry is a fraud, traitor, etc.

Looking back at that ticket, they could have both competed for the biggest loser. Lurch and Mueller have a strange resemblance.

Not one of these people could spell honor or dignity. They toss each other under the bus at the first opportunity and we expected Sessions to be loyal and honorable? Washington swamp rats are incapable.

No sh!! Sherlock? You mean good hair isn’t the most important quality?

What is with these losers (McCain, Kerry) whining about how they regret their VP picks? YOU lost to Bush, John, trying to pass the blame to Edwards (YOUR choice of running mate) is pathetic.

That's completely graceless … just as it was graceless for John McCain to criticize Sarah Palin … or, for that matter, for DJT to engage in twitterstorms against his own appointees.

Why not just say, "It seemed like the best decision at the time and I'm not going to waste time second guessing myself. Since it didn't work out, sure: with 20/20 hindsight, maybe a different choice would have been better. But there's no guarantee of that either. The loss is on me, not on a Hail Mary choice on VP."

Too bad GORE didn't demand an investigation of himself, and his campaign. Remember the Saffron robed contributions? The Indonesian Luongs? Money from Indonesia, the Philippines and non citizen Filipinos here? I could go on, but I do not need a body bag, just now (LOL)

If GORE runs, what will me his hash tag? #MASA or #MACA? (#MAGA Make America Sh$% Again; #MACA Make America Corrupt Again). Next election, I think I'll put the i(D)iot Presidential Candidates name on a Blue Hat with the #MASA logo. (I bet we could fund this site with those sales alone?)

Edwards was only shtupping a photographer. Kerry at least had the initiative to shtupp a ketchup heiress. In that regard, Edwards did not measure up to Francois Keree.

After a long day on the campaign trail against Bush, Kerry stopped in at a posh Bar in Beacon Hill, Boston. The polls were turning, and John Edwards just ... wasn't measuring up.

Exhausted and dejected, Kerry schlumped down on a stool at the bar. To his right sat a horse enjoying a beer and hamburger.

The horse turned to Kerry and asked, "Why the long face?"
