There was a “Cover Page” article about Musk recently in, IIRC, Rolling Stone. (My Mom somehow got scammed into a subscription — she just throws it away, but I saw the issue with Musk on the cover & figured, “ok, I’m a space buff, I should read this.”)
I believe it was the weirdest interview I’ve ever read. Sure, he’d just broken up with his girlfriend, but, still... I can almost believe Musk is just immature (obviously) and jealous that some 63-year-old drifter-diver type has a “hot” 40 yr young wife who apparently loves him (the diver) and stands by her hubby.
Musk should concentrate on SpaceX and taking over 90+ percent of the worldwide launch business, instead he's got his head stuffed up his ass regarding Mars colonization, and as an interim step he thinks SpaceX can succeed in building a large payload SSTO even though no one else can build one or thinks anyone else can build one. Oh, and to finance the whole works he thinks he's going to get approval to shoot hundreds of people across the Pacific ocean every 30 minutes in the very same rocket.
I would not bet that Musk knows something. Musk made some “first time tourist in Thailand don’t know squat” type comments when he was over there when the kids were still in the cave. So even if he heard something, I very much doubt he is even capable of evaluating the credibility of what he heard.
I long ago mastered the art of keeping my mouth shut and nodding politely when people who’ve been to the Kingdom once or twice, or spent the whole time in Pattaya or Phuket, or Kao San Road, tell me what’s what.
I guess you’ve never been to Thailand, nor eaten Thai food, nor noticed that there are Thai restaurants all over America...
