President Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and House Speaker Paul Ryan have teamed up this summer to do something that hasnt happened in two decades write and pass department spending bills instead of lumping everything into a massive package.
The House and Senate are moving at a brisk pace to pass the appropriations bills, with the Senate leading, approving nine of 12.
Whats more, the Trump administration has pushed through key priorities on wall and Pentagon spending, as well as curbing wasteful programs, though still ending up with a more expensive budget than they wanted by over $50 billion.
And while Congress has taken the votes, many on Capitol Hill are giving Trump and his team the credit for breaking the 20-year log jam. They cite his refusal to sign another massive omnibus spending bill that ignored his priorities, even if it means shutting down the government.
This is all driven by the president, said a key congressional insider. Its a win for the president. For 20 years this system has been busted.

AAARRRGGHH LET’S OVERTURN SOME CARS AND S—T AND DISRUPT THE SENATE CONFIRMATION HEARINGS!
That’s really smart and I know POTUS is behind this.
This way he can veto individual bills.
That would put us at the 2nd Term of DerSlickMyster when this started. Oye vey that has been a long Uni-Party BOHICA and you can add the names of the House and Senate Leaders and POTUS's involved including our "good guys"....
The MSM is covering this ?
On the other hand...it’s kind of NICE that the Enemy Media does NOT report the gains We The People are making under President Trump.
Best. Election. Ever. EVER! MAGA! :)
See my Post #6.
Loose Lips Sink Ships! ;)
To the extent true, sound like great PROGRESS.
McConnell wanted congress to get crespdit for this. 20 years Mitch, how long have you guys been in congress? What changed that this year is different, hmmmmm?

No, it's not. Crap like this is the biggest danger we face.
A few years ago, we got a conservative school board for the first time in generations. They promised to stop the forced busing and other asinine programs. They campaigned on it and fulfilled on their promises. We have the second largest school district in the country and the Democrats couldn't let this happen without a fight. They organized "Moral Mondays" to vent their outrage over the "controversial school board" and never reported any good news.
When it came time for the next election, the media went on offense and kept reporting that education results continued to drop in NC. They weren't lying directly but were lying by omission because our district was the one bright spot in the whole State. The result of all of the negative press was a return to the Democrats in the next election.
They are following this gameplan with Trump and it's very worrying. The media knows he can't win with just the political junkies like us. He needs average Americans just going about their lives and all they are hearing is bad news since he was elected. It has an effect. 2-3% is all it would take.
Nice having an Executive in the Executive Branch.
It’s about friggin’ time. Congress ought to be penalized for NOT passing budgets, as required by law. I say dock their salaries x dollars per day for each day beyond the date upon which budgets are due.
