Beto O’Rourke campaign denies sending texts encouraging illegal voting
The Hill ^ | 09/06/18 | Megan Keller

Posted on 09/06/2018 9:19:47 AM PDT by yesthatjallen

A spokesman for Rep. Beto O’Rourke’s (D-Texas) campaign denied that text messages sent to Texan voters asking for help transporting "undocumented immigrants" to polling stations were sent on behalf of the campaign, The New York Times reported.

The denial comes after the Times reported that text messages claiming to be from an O’Rourke volunteer named Patsy were sent to voters in Texas on Wednesday night, asking for help in transporting "undocumented immigrants" to polling stations so that they could vote.

“That was not an approved message by the campaign,” Chris Evans, a spokesman for Mr. O’Rourke, told the Times.

Evans added whoever sent the text was “not a Beto volunteer,” and said the sender was an "impostor," the Times reported. Evans added that O'Rourke's campaign was looking into how the messages were sent.

The O'Rourke campaign did not immediately reply to a request for comment from The Hill.

The Times reported it was not clear how many people had received the messages or who had sent them.

‘We are in search of volunteers to help transport undocumented immigrants to polling booths so that they will be able to vote. Would you be able to support this grassroots effort?”

This is an actual text a friend in Texas just received. It is NOT from the Beto campaign. Very slick, Ted Cruz & Texas Republicans. - Jerry Ochao

O’Rourke, a Democrat, is facing off against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas.) in the November midterms. Polls have shown both in a dead heat, a surprising feat for a Democrat in the deep-red state.

Cruz’s campaign denied any involvement and said it was not aware of the messages, according to the Times. The Cruz campaign did not immediately reply to a request for comment from The Hill.

The Times reported that O’Rourke's campaign has employed text messages to reach voters through the campaign.

Robert Francis “No Borders” O’Rourke is only worried that his true nature would be seen before the election.

How many Democrats volunteered for this “grassroots effort?”

When about half the San Antonio phone book lists “Juan Garcia” and the other half “Jesse Rodriguez,” it’s hard to tell who’s a legal voter.

Democrat position: “There is NOTHING illegal regarding the transportation of undocumented workers to polling locations. We’re bringing them there so that they can witness how an election works and then tell their friends and relatives when they return home.”

Lyin’ Deniers.

Alinsky approved.

There are 250,000 known illegals registered to vote in Texas. Probably more than that by now...

Make it a felony, so, these people cannot vote again.

Buto's just pissed that no one taught the new political operatives the rules about keeping their illegal activities confined to underground meetings.

He’s a liar! He is texting everyone across the state asking for support and collecting data. He has texted my husband I both. We told him not to text us again as we support Cruz.

I work with a Beto supporter, and even he is tired of the text blasts from the Beto campaign.

“That was not an approved message by the campaign,”

Illegals in the border area around Brownsville Texas have been voting and deciding Texas elections since the 50’s or even farther back....

No approved??? Sure it is. Every election year our California Governor Brown makes a public plea for illegals voting in our California elections.....yet they didn’t want Trump’s commission examining voting rolls in California......If illegals didn’t vote in California it would be a bluish purple state instead of a one party blue state.....up to 8 million illegals vote in California with no consequences ....Texas Democrat politicians are of exactly the same vein....in fact California Dems learned it from Texas emigrant Willie Brown who ran the California legislature for the Dems for years....He was Kamala Harris’ political mentor and “squeeze.”

I somehow got on a libtard text message list. I had to replace my phone and phone # about a year ago after my phone was hacked. The phone # I have now must have been for some libtard. I have received a text from Beto's campaign that reads thusly:

Hi! I'm Martha w/Texas
Dems. We need help making
sure voters return their ballot-
by-mail applications. We'll be
textbanking (like I'm doing
now!) every Thursday. Can you
help out on Sept. 6?

Did you keep the text? Did you get a screen shot? Did you do a reverse look-up for the number?
