This state worker wants to quit her union — but it won’t let her go (Ca)

A new lawsuit from a University of California health worker says her union won’t let her quit.

Liliana Hernandez, who works in patient billing for UC Irvine’s health system, argues in her lawsuit that AFSCME Local 3299 is still collecting dues from her despite her repeated attempts to separate. And she wants to kill a state law that requires government to defer to union rules on such matters.

She and her attorneys contend the slow response from her union and her employer violates the Supreme Court’s June decision in Janus vs. AFSCME banning public-sector labor organizations from collecting any kind of fee from workers unless they consent to it.

The court, in a 5-4 decision, held that compulsory charges known as “fair share” fees undermine the First Amendment rights of employees who don’t want to join unions.

The Democratic Party will cease to function if they do not have this money in 2012. We are talking about HUNDREDS of millions of dollars from unions to Dem campaigns, just in 2016.

The Democrat Campaign INDUSTRY of hangers-on, consultants, management firms, etc., will find it very hard to pay for those Chessapeake waterfront homes and yachts without it!

I’m going to request to do the same thing once some moving and shaking happens and I’m off probation on the new promotion I expect. It will be the last time I move up before retirement. I’ll take that extra $50 a check and put it towards my 457 plan.

The Teamsters did the same thing to me many years ago thats why I hate unions. I had to switch banks and get a different account number just to shake them off.

The Supreme Court rules on gay marriage and the next day it is being enforced nationally as the law of the land.

A Supreme Court ruling the left doesn’t like? Ignore and slow roll it until it dies.

Liliana Hernandez has found out the hard way that the state gov't of California and the US "labor" union AFSCME regard her as a slave, because she is Latino.

Apparently “belonging” to a union is quite literal. This could be defined as indentured servitude...

Fraud, Theft, Embezzlement Money Laundering, Sure sounds like a RICO case to me.

If the money being illegally taken by the Unions was being used for Religious purposes or Anti Abortion...any subject the Marxist’s don’t agree with, The Entire Union Leadership would already be wearing Orange Jumpsuits

Having been personally threatened by union goons (I was a teen young enough that I needed school permission to work, and they were much larger adults who threatened to break my bones if I didn’t quit or pay up), I hate unions with a passion that will never die. Even without that bias, I would still side with this woman.
