First Lady Melania Trump issued a rare statement condemning the anonymous “deep state” official who submitted an op-ed to the New York Times.

“To the writer of the oped — You are not protecting this country, you are sabotaging it with your cowardly actions,” she wrote in a statement sent to reporters.

It would be ironic if all this sabotage caused the installation of a right wing dictatorship. Imagine what these traitors would be doing in a time of war.

The Democrats and the Deep State are trying to destroy the country.

That much is patently obvious.

Interesting that she would comment about this subject. One of her staff I wonder.

The First Lady's full statement, from axios.com:

"Freedom of speech is an important pillar of our nation's founding principles and a free press is important to our democracy. The press should be fair, unbiased and responsible.

Unidentified sources have become the majority of the voices people hear about in today's news. People with no names are writing our nation's history. Words are important, and accusations can lead to severe consequences. If a person is bold enough to accuse people of negative actions, they have a responsibility to publicly stand by their words and people have the right to be able to defend themselves.

To the writer of the oped - you are not protecting this country, you are sabotaging it with your cowardly actions."

It’s a psy-ops ploy to get the administration to attack itself.

She’s right. If it were my guess, this is either an Obama holdover trying to get administration officials who defied the blacklist fired, or else it is some butt-hurt globalist who would rather take out the entire country rather than admit that their idealism isn’t panning out in the real world.

It is really horrible that the people who have signed on to work for the administration have done so under threat of having their lives ruined and never working again. Trump will either get the finest people willing to sacrifice their futures to help their country, or the screw-ups with nothing left to lose, or double agents who are there to undermine the administration. It does out country no good for this blacklist to exist. It is undermining our entire country in very real ways and if this isn’t illegal it should be.

Of all the Presidents of my lifetime (Eisenhower to Trump), Trump is the only one where this scenario seems possible.

Not by his own doing but by popular acclaim à la Caesar; an honor Geo. Washington refused.

Can someone explain to me why this is being taken seriously, even by the White House, apparently?

I expected Trump to dismiss it as a pure fiction made up by the NYT, since they are denying there is any truth to any of the supposed quotes by Kelly, Mattis and others, as well as various other specific claims.

But instead, Trump, Sanders, Melania and others on his team are referring to “whoever is leaking this” as if they believe there is actually someone in the administration leaking this stuff to the NYT.

So my question is - was there something factual in the story that proves there is an actual leaker within the administration?

If anyone can enlighten me I’d appreciate it.

Yep. I bet the actual author is some back-of-the-newsroom hack at the New York Slimes.

The saboteur is clueless:

Hillary ran twice - she was rejected by the American People both times.

McCain ran twice - he was rejected both times.

Jeb Bush ran and he failed - totally rejected early...

Washington DC is out of touch with the American People and the Saboteur is a fool.

Bloomberg rebuttal.

Melania's Lament Rings Hollow in Trump's Glass House

Her husband has spent decades spreading anonymous – and damaging – gossip.
