YouTube Bans Cody Wilson Press Conference and Fundraising Videos
The Washington Free Beacon ^ | September 7, 2018 5:00 am | Stephen Gutowski

'It’s self-evidently an attempt at controlling our culture and people’s discovery of it'

Cody Wilson said that video-sharing giant YouTube removed video of his recent press conference announcing the sale of gun blueprints and a fundraiser for his ongoing legal fight over the publication of the same blueprints.

"YouTube removed my fundraising video and my press conference," Wilson told the Washington Free Beacon. "They're saying it's ‘promotion of the sale of firearms.' They removed every video I've ever made on ghost gunner and Defcad. Press conference, attended by the NYT and AP is still gone."

An email from YouTube to Wilson's company, obtained by the Free Beacon and dated August 31, 2018, tells the company it has violated Community Guidelines.

"As you may know, our Community Guidelines describe which content we allow—and don't allow—on YouTube," an email from "The YouTube Team" to Wilson's company said. "Your video Cody Wilson—Press Conference—Defense Distributed—8-28-2018 was flagged to us for review. Upon review, we've determined that it violates our guidelines and we’ve removed it from YouTube."

Part of the process of replacing them is publicly complaining at the tops of our voices about their censorship.

Otherwise nothing will change.

Do you have a problem with calling them out?

Or is that too unseemly for you?

Actually, it’s not “their tube” because it’s publicly traded.

And just like any commercial entity doing business in the public square, they have to follow laws regardless of what they think or say.

A person can say “I am King and you must bow before me” but it doesn’t make it true, especially if that person is doing business in a commercial setting open to the public.

Listen, ass, the point was that currently the people who manage Youtube are calling the shots. Whether that changes in the future is unknown.

For the practical present, it would be wise to look at alternatives if you want to get your message out on a social media platform.

But it’s OK with you if we complain at the tops of our lungs about it?

I just want to make sure you’re not uncomfortable with it.

We wouldn’t want that.

Personally, I think it’s a terrible injustice (and bad business practice) to censor content based on political ideologies.

Not to get too windy, but I blame horrendously under-educated masses for this phenomenon.

Nothing good will come of this for anybody. Competition cannot come soon enough.

They employed bait-and-switch.

They allowed competing ideologies long enough to create a de facto monopoly on free speech.

Then, as a crucial election approaches, they pulled the rug out from under those competing ideologies.

The situation calls for replacement but that’s not going to happen before the election, so screaming about it is a necessary strategy.

Thanks E. Pluribus Unum. IOW, whatever the antisocial media scumbags are saying to congress is perjury.
