Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort is considering an agreement with prosecutors that would involve him pleading guilty on some charges in exchange for avoiding a second trial set to begin this month in Washington, D.C.
A source close to Manafort's negotiations told Bloomberg News that the former Trump associate's lawyers have been discussing the number of charges Manafort may admit to and the length of a sentence to be recommended by prosecutors.
He is charged in Washington, D.C. court of conspiracy to launder money made in Ukraine while serving as a lobbyist for pro-Russia political parties, and is accused of acting as an unregistered foreign agent of Ukraine as well. The Washington, D.C. trial is set to follow his Virginia trial, which ended last month in eight guilty verdicts for Manafort on a slew of financial crimes while a mistrial was declared on 10 other charges.
Manafort is due to be sentenced for those convictions later this year, and faces the possibility of years behind bars.
This breaking news story will be updated.
Well lets see, he is already in line for 80 years and he is 72 years old, so what possible difference does it make to him other than avoiding attorney fees
The Hill of Crap again
cohen saved himself 60 years in prison just by claiming Trump directed him to pay off a hooker.
What incentive does the prosecution have to bring the case to trial if he's already been convicted of those other charges?
Did the feds just fold, hand revealed? The judge ruled just the other day that any references to collusion weren’t allowable - the trial strictly had to be on Manafort’s failure to register as a foreign agent, etc. etc.

The Manafort distraction has just about been played out
They seem to be focusing on Roger Stone now
If midterms go well for the GOP Mulehead may be roasting chestnuts on an open fire by years end
Lindsey Graham actually seems to have grown a set
George Papadopoulos' 14 day sentence was meant to send a message.
This shitpile is the most popular publication cited on FR. I doubt the commies at DU post from it as much as we do.
“George Papadopoulos’ 14 day sentence was meant to send a message”
From who to whom?
He knows Trump will kill the swamp.
I am sure that Lindsey has not that McPain is at room temperature and no longer has Graham’s balls in a lock box.
Yet Crooked H, Lois, Huma, Susan, Eric, DiFi, et. al., are free as a bird.
The Hill is garbage . Just glad we arent being tag teamed with Politico or Axios.
I think Lindsey has one foot in the swamp
Sees himself as a go- between
Not a Trump loyalist but not willing to take down the Executive Branch by coup
His best plan is to get this over with and wait for a pardon.
He’ll get one. Cohen won’t, but he will, and so probably will Papadopoulos.
When did Papa Dizzle get a 14 day sentence??
“I think Lindsey has one foot in the swamp”
I think Lindsay has both feet in the swamp, and is up to his chest in the gurgle. Lindsay is effective at building just enough trust where you start to trust him.
Trusting him is what Lindsay needs to be effective and placing the knife effectively in his opponent’s back.
Never forget his participation in the Clinton impeachment proceedings, nor his years of biting the pillow for McCain.
