US recalls diplomats from countries that abandoned Taiwan for China
Great Power War ^ | 9/8/18 | USA Features

Analysis: As the Trump administration continues to express greater support for Taiwan, China is exerting more effort in peeling away as many of Taiwan’s remaining 17 allies as it can, as a way to further isolate the island. Moving into regions so close, geographically and politically, to Washington is akin to the Soviet Union moving into traditional U.S. zones of influence in the Caribbean (Cuba) and Latin America during the Cold War.

Nice to see our country on the side of good for a change! For too many decades, our leaders have been spineless, globalist, corrupt, evil bastards who have no concern for right or wrong - just their own egos and wallets.

... and they’d be thrilled to go BACK to that, too.

After his next meeting in North Korea, Trump should stop over in Taipei and see how he is treated there.

We just opened an embassy there this year as an FU to china. I’ve flown to Chang kai Shek airport a few times before heading to Hong Kong and back, and it’s probably the most militarized airport I’ve seen aside from Beijing. Of course, we would strengthen our ties with it.

The biggest mistake (by far) that the world's advanced, industrialized nations made in the 80’s and 90’s was to open their ports to Chinese made goods.Eventually...and maybe not long from now...the world will come to deeply regret the error of allowing China to become an economic power.

If the Philippines had accepted statehood we’d be there already.

Something tells me it’s only because their labor is cheaper than India and the Philippines who speak english and seem to like us. I wonder about India though. Perhaps it was a sellout by our elites who knew china would not buy from us.

>>Something tells me it’s only because their labor is cheaper than India<<

Based on many projects with (red dot not feather; or call center not casino) Indians both on and offshore I assure you what Indians speak is NOT “English.”

Just as bad — I have managed projects with Chicoms as well.

But the Chinese are less arrogant, since they know they do not know. Indians seem to think they are good when they suck big-time.

Great! Now Trump needs to utter the words, “The One Point Five China Policy” in a speech and then authorize sales of a metric butt-load more military hardware for Taiwan. Subs, cruise missiles, Aegis equipped frigates, Patriot batteries, attack helicopters, M1 tanks, anti-submarine capability for their P3’s, etc... and all the F-16’s they have room for. I think they want the VTOL variant of the F-35 eventually, as well.

No, it is not an embassy, It is still the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), which has been here for years. It handles all the same functions of an embassy, but unlike an embassy, doesn't have an ambassador ( it has a Director ). They have constructed a new building. One good thing Trump has done though. For the first time, he is stationing Marines there. So in "effect" it is an embassy - just without an ambassador.

I fly out of there all the time and don't ever recall seeing military in the airport. Now the airport workers ( their version of the TSA ) wear uniforms that look like military, but aren't.

You mean standing up to the nations that want to bring the whole free world under their communists thumbs??????

Or did you have a different spin on it?
