I’ll bet Trump volunteered to go to TX to help Cruz. Trump loves rallies, and TX is a big state! It also helps Trump!
Because the Left is near-orgasmic at the prospect of taking any GOP state-wide seat from Texas. Trump won TX by 9%. Cruz is still polling at +4%, but was +9% earlier this year.
In Texas, with about 9m votes in 2016, that 5% swing is about 450,000 votes.
Anything that gives the Dems possible national traction in a solid Right-wing state should be opposed.

Many people (those like me, who supported Cruz over Trump during the election) now are hard core Trump supporters. Cruz needs to show everyone that he, along with the rest of us, has become a hard core Trump supporter.
I didn’t even like Trump and held my nose to vote for him in 2016 (actually more voting against Hillary), but today I would crawl over glass to vote for him again and anybody that he supports. Cruz needs to show us that he now feels the same way - due to Trump’s tremendous success as President and willingness to keep his promises regardless of the odds.
