“Anyone who watched The Wire knows this.”

Never heard of it.

The Wire is a series originally on HBO th at depicts the crime and corruption permeating Baltimore society. Each of the five years concentrates on specific corruption and crime

The drama is centered around a projescts drug organization and the police homicide unit.

The Wire is now available on Amazon Prime. Although it is 10 years old, The Wire is right up to the minute still relevant and correct

The Wire ran 5 seasons on HBO. Here are some clips from the show related to statistical manipulation of crime (warning, some profanity) - though to be fair that’s just one facet of this excellent drama about a Baltimore police detail out to capture the city’s biggest drug dealer(s), and all the politics they deal with from the brass, the city council, the court system, and even their informants and other gangsters.

It’s a little ironic that it takes place in Baltimore, because The Wire had the Freddy Grey issue in one of their episodes years before Grey was ever arrested. Today in Baltimore murders and other violent crime is way up, as the police stopped using plain-clothes cops and unmarked cars in response to complaints about their tactics.
