It’s emblematic of how much respect for Congress has been diminished so that Sasse’s articulation of the obvious should be acclaimed as noteworthy.

All this in the wake of him saying he ‘thinks’ of leaving the GOP. I see a phony when I see one. He’ll be up again in 2020. Will the primary voters do the right thing? Probably won’t have to. He’s either challenging Trump or else joining the Kasich KommandoEs.

Like it or not, he speaks much truth. If only the bastards he was speaking about were listening. and mind you, he was NOT speaking about judges.

I’m not going to thank you for posting the thread as then I got caught up (after listening to Sasse) to other videos that came up on the same site...

Sorry - listened to some with Kamala Harris and what a MISTAKE that was. Not a good way to start anyone’s day! Won’t change my opinion - she needs a good slap in the face to shut her up. She doesn’t have any respect for anyone who isn’t sitting beside her - who isn’t a member of the dem party. If they are in front of her to answer questions she is the most rude person imaginable. AND with MILITARY PEOPLE? Unbelievable!

Yes, Sasse was good...

A good start to restoring proper balance would be the repeal of the 17th amendment.

Repeal the 17th Amendment and return the Senate to it’s Constitutional role.

Nope, he’s spouting grade school level civics simplicity and getting it wrong.

I’ll agree that he hits the nail on the head, at least mostly. The legislature abdicates its authority not to just the Executive Branch, but to any one who wants to seize upon it, be it the Executive Branch or that 4th branch he identifies, the Bureaucratic Branch, or the Judiciary Branch that has taken upon itself to rule like ideologs of the majority. Which is why Supreme Court majority rule has become so important.

Ben Sasse was the darling of the “Senae Conservative Fund” when he was campaigning. He’s been a huge disappointment.

He’s never said he would become a DEM, only that he might become an Independent.

Sasse has voted in favor of Trump’s position on issues 87% of the time:

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/congress-trump-score/ben-sasse/

Facts don’t lie. Sasse is just a narcissist who pisses people off with his personality and who votes the wrong way on key issues, but it will be difficult to convince his constituents that supporting the President’s position 87% of the time makes him a “neverTrumper”.

I thought so as well. Compared to the Democrats and others he knew how to behave at a confirmation hearing.
