Actually, it does work

By citing New York, you are comparing rotten apples to fresh picked apples.

I’m a conservative.

You are far far far from conservative.

What the heck good do tax breaks for your employer do if you can’t afford to live where the job is?

The last time I looked KY legislate and the NY legislature were entirely different. Or did you over look that? The states mean nothing to you? Lowering taxes in KY to attract business does not mean socialism, actually it is getting government out of the way of industry.

I’m a BA in IT (since 1983) and drive right through there on my way to Louisville every single day. This is worth looking into.

Thanks for pinging me on this!

High tech can be located anywhere there is high speed access to the IP network back bone. This is a diffusion of the high tech industry, a trend I hope continues.

If you can OFFSHORE and OUT SOURCE to India then you can certainly can do the same by going with KY.

Oh, I know, it would probably save you a half hour or so, right?

Likely to be more ME / manufacturing oriented, but with that said, there’s a lot of technology in modern vehicles. And a lot of technology in modern manufacturing.

Sounds like manufacturing to me - not "tech".

"Much of what will be made at the Shepherdsville location the company used to buy from other manufacturers across the country. Now, they will be making different parts and electrical components in house."

Sounds like other Americans might be out of luck - good for Kentucky - but perhaps a lateral move otherwise.

Modern manufacturing is “tech.” The days of humans mindlessly screwing the same bolt into an engine block all day are over. Robots do that. Modern manufacturing now requires a technical skill. Perhaps not engineer grade, but more than taking in anyone off the street.

I can tell you this. It doesn’t bloody work. NYS has spent billions of taxpayer money and Upstate is still a freaking wasteland.

It works in getting businesses to come to a location, but like planting seeds, if the ground is barren {taxes too high, regulations too onerous} the plants won't produce, and bye, bye.
