I’ve been consuming uncured bacon, hotdogs and sausages for years. There is a large and growing selection of uncured meats currently available. Dump the nitrates and you will be better off in the long run.

Reliable Refrigeration wasn’t invented until about 100 years ago.
ALL cultures CURED meat-—mostly using salt.
This is all scare tactics. Please hand me more bacon.
I have found an item that really helps my bacon cravings.
Costco carries a package of ‘Bacon Bits’. I keep them in the freezer & use them when I make scrambled eggs. Toss a small handful of bits onto the eggs in the cast iron pan, and I get a bacon fix—altho a small one.

who eats nitrates anymore when there are so many choices for naturally cured meats, including bacon!!!
Seriously, there’s no reason to eat anything with nitrates...its only used so the manufacturers could keep large inventories in storage.
