I heard about it just after it happened.
I was a flight attendant at that time and we also heard stories of box cutters being found in seat back pockets.
I wrote of my friend who had several muslim men on her flight that got turned back to the gate. She spoke with each passenger individually as it was taking a while to get gate space. The muslim men weren’t seated together but they all had the same reaction. While the other passengers were nice and understanding, the three muslim men each pursed their lips and slowly turned their heads away from her and angrily looked out the window. They were all seated far apart from each other in an attempt to look like they weren’t together.

The 9-11 hijackers all sat in first class seats and the cattle passengers get patted down for knives, going forward no passenger can carry a blade on a plane but those seated in first class get knives (and forks) courtesy of the airlines
