Attorney General Jeff Sessions is reportedly considering an investigation into the social media giants, according to Bloomberg.

Sessions will have a meeting with the state attorney generals from Alabama, Nebraska, Tennessee, Louisiana and Texas later this month, all of whom have been reviewing the sites’ practices. The meeting is intended to determine whether “there’s a federal case to be made against companies such as Alphabet Inc.’s Google, Facebook, and Twitter for violating consumer or antitrust laws,” according to Bloomberg.

“Those are the kind of resources that we’re going need to break these companies up,” Louisiana AG Jeff Landry stated in an interview with KEEL News Radio 710. “The problem is they’ve got no competition.”

What about campaign finance laws? Like all the free advertising liberal sites like Yahoo give to Democrats?

“The problem is they’ve got no competition.”

Not true. They do have competition.

The trouble is people don’t know about it and even if they do they don’t want to strike out on their own and try to reestablish their networks.

Seems to me like the SEC might be a better choice than the DOJ...

Twitter Alternative Gab.AI Blocked by Google – for Hate Speech

In early August tech giants Facebook, Google-YouTube, Apple and Spotify colluded and removed conservative website Infowars from their platforms on the same day.

Google deleted Twitter alternative Gab.AI from their platform this week.

Far left Silicon Valley elites decide who gets a voice in America today.

NewsBusters reported:

Google’s approach to hate speech is heavy-handed to say the least.

Google Play Store, the app store for Android cell phones, recently decided to crack down on its hate-speech policy. Recently, Gab.ai, a social media platform that markets itself as an alternative to Twitter, was “suspended and removed” on September 9 from the Google Play Store yet again. That’s because, according to Google, the app “violated the hate speech policy.”

While the site has some questionable users, Gab.ai is focused on allowing freedom of speech on its platform. This is the second version of the app that the site had launched. On Twitter, the Gab.ai profile said it had a “global filter on ‘hate speech’ words” and tried to fully comply with Google Play’s policy.

CEO Andrew Torba published the list of hate words that had to be filtered out in order to meet the standards of Google Play. The list was extensive.

Torba criticized the app store on his Gab.ai profile, saying, “Weird that apps which allow pedophiles to roam freely and prey on young children (Twitter, Periscope, Mastodon) are all allowed on the App Stores. But Gab.ai, which takes a hardline stance against illegal pornography and child abuse, is not allowed.”

Mike Cernovich is right.
This leftist purge will eventually remake America.

Start your own app, build your own App Store, then it’ll be, “Build your own internet service provider.” Then build your own power lines. https://t.co/XC4ZsYje0u

Sessions needs to probe the DoJustUs including the FIB first.

“This is good.”

I’m not hopeful. I expect the fix already is in, and the appropriate money has changed hands to ensure a favorable outcome for the commie companies.

I trust Sessions not at all.

Probes, committees, white papers, etc., do nothing except waste time and money.

The next Attorney General needs to launch a major antitrust action against Big Media, to break up any multinational or corporation that is “too big to fail, so is too big to continue in its current form”, and to start anti-trusting other oligopolies.

And this is after prosecuting countless current and former government officials for committing felonies. When even citizens have compiled indictments for such persons, it is past time for them to be prosecuted. Often the responsibility of the Justice Department.

Sorry Jeff, the Russians used Social media to impact the 2016 election, so you will need to recuse yourself from this one. Why do we pay this seat warmer?

Sounds like a deal.

Hope Mr. Sessions demands a “backdoor” to review the search algorithms.

Perhaps, a rainbow of icons to classify the responses to searches. Then, proceed to the color of your choice.

Metcalfe’s Law of Networks is the key issue here, it is at complete odds with the concept of Antitrust. Metcalfe’s Law says that a network’s value is proportional to the number of connected people/devices N, squared, or N^2. Obviously these existing social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Reddit have huge existing N, and overcoming that advantage will be very, very difficult.
