A source who said they were briefed on the contents of the letter said it described an incident involving Kavanaugh and a woman that took place when both were 17 years old and at a party. According to the source, Kavanaugh and a male friend had locked her in a room against her will, making her feel threatened, but she was able to get out of the room. The Guardian has not verified the apparent claims in the letter. It is not yet clear who wrote it.

It might look absurd on the surface but we’re living in absurd times so, if the story holds, they’ll be going for a kidnapping charge. No statute of limitation issues and, since it’s California, probably no problem getting a judge to take the case.
It doesn’t matter what the story IS. Here is what matters.....”woman”, “secret letter”, “victim” “wants to remain anonymous”, “turned over to FBI”.

Basically, that if it warranted an investigation, she was supposed to tell the Republicans on the committee as soon as she knew and that the person didn’t want it taken any further which was ignored. It’s noted elsewhere on FR that this letter was not given directly to Feinstein but to a CA. representative who gave it to the senator.
