Ten days after Nike announced that Colin Kaepernick would be the face of its “Just Do It” 30th anniversary ad campaign, the sports apparel behemoth’s stock price closed at an all-time high on Thursday at $83.47, according to a report from Bloomberg.

Nike had previously faced a noticeable dip in its stock price in the immediate aftermath of its Kaepernick announcement, dropping nearly 3 percent in the next day of trading at the New York Stock Exchange. That fall has since been made up and more, with the current price slightly besting the company’s previous high of $83.00 from Wednesday and an earlier peak of $82.95 on Aug. 21, 2018

I guess their PR team knew what they were doing after all. I was certain they would have vetted this 10 ways til Sunday before creating this campaign and it looks like they were spot on.

I think the holders of this stock, which are likely large institutional investors, have managers that operate just like “Mr. Wonderful”.

They are not emotional. They don’t like causes. They like MONEY.

Fake news - Nike, along with a lot of other stocks are at all time highs. If anything it should’ve been 4% higher because of the drop.

The real proof of the pudding will come after Christmas sales.

The SEC filings should make interesting reading. Lying to the public is one thing. To the Feds....

Umm, it’s not fake. It’s at an all time high. Pretty easy to verify. You could say “it should be higher” of any stock. No one would ever know that for sure.

Nike will benefit from being anti-cop, anti-America etc. Their market is 16-30 year olds who have been indoctrinated in public schools and haven’t lifted a finger to pay taxes, millennials, they “think” socialism is cool.

I buy American made New Balance sports wear and suspect most conservatives do too.

Nike is an international company whose anti-American marketing campaign is likely to resonate around the world.

The Stinky Sneakers crowd says, “In yo face, America! Take your flag and shove it.” The chimps are not going to give up their 300 dollar pairs of stinky sneakers and 600 dollar football jerseys.

Let’s see how the 4th Quarter sales numbers look before concluding NIKE made a wise decision to irritate more than half of their customer base.

In the past my wife would order a NIKE shirt for her brother’s birthday present.

Not so this year. Her brother will get a New Balance shirt for his birthday present.
