What are the dems going to do now? they have already blamed Trump for this storm. The headline in the Post was deliberately and intentionally timed for just before the hurricane.

Since “he caused” it, then he caused it to be a mild rainstorm.

I hate to say it but I get the impression that weather personalities LOVE to hype this stuff beyond the actual level of damage or danger.

It's how they can control the attention they get in the media.

Right, I know it's pathetic... but how many times in your memory have they predicted disastrous events that in the end, don't reach the level of danger they predict?

Because of Katrina, they now think that they have cart blanche to hype the weather to their hearts content

I’ve long suspected that the media inflates numbers to reach their climate change narrative goals.

Just look at how the NHC has started to define “subtropical storms,” even going so far as to name them. When the Univ. of Colorado comes out with numbers at the beginning of the season, they’re overly optimistic and wind up defining them down by mid-season. I wouldn’t be surprised if they start naming invests just to reach their numbers, because as the sun has gotten damn-near silent, our planet is going to cool, and hurricanes are going to become less frequent.

Meanwhile the leftist media will continue to breathlessly report how we’re all destroying the environment and that hurricanes are the harvest we are reaping. Spare me!

Isaac has degraded into an impressive-looking wave. Surface-level circulation is all but gone, and convection just isn’t there. They still don’t know where it’ll steer later in the track, but it’s looking more likely to head into central America as a rain event.

Perhaps at the time of reporting it was. However, when it is still over water and days from making landfall all of that is really unimportant.

Personally I am just happy for those people who are not sustaining the massive monster that it probably once was. Also tickled that the media has made such an issue that they are the ones with egg on their faces.

I think Moorhead City is already at 42” of rain.

The firehose is pointed right at Morehead City.

It looks like to me that the NWS at Moorhead City hasn't reported since late yesterday.

Do you have a source for that rain measurement?

Thanks.

"I think Moorhead City is already at 42” of rain."

Where did you get that number? As of last night, they had received less than 3 inches:

Morehead City N.C.

“””Winds speeds recorded show the eyewall and eye passing directly the station. Maximum sustained winds on the leading edge of the storm were 52 knots at 5.36 AM, followed by the eye with (its typically) low winds at 7am, followed by the trailing eyewall winds of 56 knots at 8am.”””

Meanwhile, Fox News is still saying the Florence windspeed is 80mph with gusts 10 100mph.

Even Fox News gets caught up creating a bigger story than what is now a Tropical Storm.

I saw the same thing last year as Irma went through
Florida. The media kept calling it a Cat 3 storm when the actual readings were in the 60mph range.

Yep, and I see even slower winds from the Wunderground stations...

Yes, that is frequently the case.

Of course they hype these storms. When else do people watch The Weather Channel for more than the 10 minutes to get your local on the 8’s. Their ratings are based on getting you to watch. Stick with us for breaking news, etc. It is no different than when broadcasters tease a story and then go to commercial. Don’t change that dial.

It is even worse around here in New England in the winter. Every year it is like we have never had snow before. Then everybody goes to the grocery store and buys milk and bread.
I like to wait until the snow starts and then go the store. It is empty.

Yup. I pointed that out here last year for Irma. Even folks on here got mad at me for pointing that out.

One location in NC is already reporting 40+ inches, and the rain is still coming down.

Everyone on the Atlantic seaboard who dies, strokes out, gets a yeast infection, will be Trumps fault. And yes FEMA used fake storm related deaths in Puerto Rico to embellish their importance for more money and more power. The people are not immortal until a hurricane from Trump arrives?!

I heard talk of it being a cat 6 by the time it hits. Reality? It’s not even a hurricane.

Yeah the flooding is the real danger here. In my little town in the mountains about 8 yrs ago we had a freak thunderstorm hit us. It was the proverbial raining cats, dogs and anything else you could think of in buckets. Usually that type storm puts down its water and quickly moves, except this one stayed put from 4:00am to 8:00am in the same spot and it just was a four hour cloud burst. We got 10 inches of rain in that short period of time. The small town was flooded and many businesses were heavily damaged as well as homes. The water will be far more damaging than the wind.

The gaslight presstitutes were so hoping they could turn this into “Trump’s Katrina.”

Nothing they do works out anymore.

I feel so sorry for them. Heh.
