New York Democratic Senate hopeful Julia Salazar sued Mets legend Keith Hernandez's ex-wife Kai Hernandez for defamation in 2013

•Court documents seen by DailyMail.com say that Kai accused Salazar, 27, of having an affair with the baseball player in the midst of the couple's divorce

•Hernandez, who is the voice of the Mets and known for his Seinfeld guest appearances, denies an affair in statement to DailyMail.com

•She was also accused of stealing $11,800 in cash, $1,175 in Pottery Barn vouchers, and $950 worth of wine while house-sitting for Kai in Jupiter, Florida

•In her complaint, Salazar said she considered Hernandez a 'father figure' and public records show the athlete lived next door to her family home

•Kai told Tequesta Police that Salazar also tried to access her bank account with her personal information which led to her arrest in March 2011

•The allegations were later dismissed and Salazar sued Kai claiming she 'engaged in character assassination' by falsely accusing her of the crimes

•Salazar, who has campaigned as a Democratic socialist claiming to be a Colombian-Jewish immigrant, was outed as a Catholic Republican born in Miami

•Salazar's attorney claims to DailyMail.com that case was settled with her getting cash; court records say only that it was dismissed after being settled
