HBO host Bill Maher, a prominent critic of President Trump, dismissed Brett Kavanaugh as a Supreme Court nominee this week but said publicizing anonymous accusations against him dating back to high school make critics "look bad."
“Now they’re coming at him with this accusation from someone anonymous who said that he was at a party … but sexual assault in high school from an anonymous source, I think it makes us look bad,” he said on Friday's “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

You Think? I mean this is one hillarious joke in and of itself that a guy is being portrayed as a criminal for doing less than almost everyone in Congress. It’s rediculous beyond reason.

Maher has been accused of sexual assault before so, while I like that he he acknowledged “us” is the democrats, it’s pretty obvious which side of this he’d come down on because of his personal experience.
It shows desperation.
Maher is a creepy cumudgeon atheist with typical Democrat values — it’s amazing #metoo hasn’t snagged him (yet).
I’m kind of amazed at how hard they went after a guy who IMO isn’t really all that conservative. They spent a ton of capital on a man who will get confirm easily and when seated will be just barely to the right of Roberts.
Bill Maher admits he's just a ****ing Demwit, which puts him ahead of most partisan media shills -- but he also has (at least in the past) heavily criticized Islamic terrorism.
This could be a shot across the bow so to speak, at the reception and difficulties that a nominee for a future vacancy will go through.
Think about it. Will some future nominees actually decline a Supreme Court nomination, because of the gauntlet that nominee will be put through?

I tend to doubt it. Bork and Thomas were just brutal and everyone saw them. And people still queue up for the spots. Those jobs are the ultimate fantasy of every judge. I think most federal judges that wind up making those candidate lists would endure almost anything for the chance to be a Supreme.
This has been part of the game plan of the left for a long time. I remember the unfair grilling that Condaleeza Rice got from Dems. They have just ratcheted it up under PDJT. It takes great courage to accept any position that requires Senate confirmation these days. The Resistance is evil and bullying is their tactic.
