A man in a bandana was killed a late night shootout at a Whataburger in Southwest Houston after walking in to the fast food restaurant and starting shooting, witnesses said.
The man, whose identity has not been released, walked into the restaurant at 7629 W Bellfort about 1:o0 a.m. Saturday, possibly to rob the store and started shooting.
Witnesses said the security guard returned fire, hitting the man who fled the restaurant. He died in the parking lot while trying to get to his car.
Some witnesses said the man was not trying to rob the restaurant, but was there to kill someone.

Number done, with a bullet !
Well, congrats. He got the right person dead.
“One Whatathug to go.”
A burger joint needs a security guard? Rough place.
“the man was not trying to rob the restaurant, but was there to kill someone.”
I have no comment?
Well, that worked out about right.
This story is about right for that neighborhood.
Whataburger fries and spicy ketchup will make you crazy.
Give that security guard a Whatahug!
Because they knew the paid killers would never expect that!
Damn! This is a hit country song just waiting to be written!
Re “A burger joint needs a security guard? Rough place”.
No, just ‘Rough Meat’. (aka Road Kill, charbroiled, with fries and bullets to go).
Never had issues but the area was sketchy.
>4000 W Bellfort about 1:00 a.m. Saturday ... Not the best place in the world to be!
Long gone... *Sniff*
“24 hour service” :)
You should see Keller’s on Harry Hines in Dallas.
Good burgers though.
