Lisa Page testimony: Collusion still unproven by time of Mueller's special counsel appointment

More than nine months after the FBI opened its highly classified counterintelligence investigation into alleged coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia, FBI lawyer Lisa Page said investigators still could not say whether there was collusion, according to a transcript of Page’s recent closed-door deposition reviewed by Fox News.

“I think this represents that even as far as May 2017, we still couldn’t answer the question,” Page said.

Page was responding to Republican Rep. John Ratcliffe of Texas, who wanted more information about a May 2017 text where Page, and her then colleague and lover FBI agent Peter Strzok discussed the merits of joining Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team.

Page sat for the transcribed interview before the House Judiciary and Oversight committees in mid-July as part of a joint congressional investigation into the Justice Department’s handling of the Russia and Clinton email probes.

According to the transcript, Page stopped mid-answer.”...sorry. Can I consult with counsel? I’m sorry. I need to consult with FBI counsel for a moment.”

Sections of the transcript reviewed by Fox show Ratcliffe pursued the line of questioning at least three more times, and Page provided varying answers. ...”

“I cannot provide the specifics of a confidential interview,” Ratcliffe told Fox News when asked for comment.

“But I can say that Lisa Page left me with the impression, based on her own words, that the lead investigator of the Russian collusion case, Peter Strzok, had found no evidence of collusion after nearly a year.”

They had everything they needed and more, and couldn’t even get the frame-up right.

J. Edgar Hoover is spinning in his grave!

The stories of the two “Pages” are crucial to Spygate. As far as Lisa goes, the question is “will she turn”. I think she will, in no small part because of being a mistress mistreated. As far as Carter goes the question remains whether he WAS an asset of the FBI at the time or not. If not, he can sue a whole bunch of people.

Lisa Page has been one of several deep throats who is sticking it to the Deep State.

If they didn’t have the media and “entertainment” industry in their corner, covering their butts and making excuses, the dems would have been out of business a long time ago.

How smooooth of Ms. Page to parse her answer in that fashion. Of COURSE they were not able to prove collusion, because there never was any Trump collusion. She, Strzock and all the DOJ & FBI brass made it up out of whole cloth.

He seems like a mild-mannered guy, so I'm guessing he won't sue. But, he'll likely write a book about the experience and promote it on TV!

Of course, the other issue here is whether or not the “collusion” itself would have been a crime in the first place. Mueller’s appointment needed a crime and there still hasn’t been a crime in these proceedings.

Simple logic dictates that Russia wouldn't want a strong-on-defense team like Trump-Pence in the White House, over a very weak/pathetic democrat one, particularly at a time when that are on the move in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Indeed, part of Obama's "fundamental transformation" was to practically dismantle our military.

Rosenstein very clearly updated the Special Counsel reach to include Manafort. That was the weasel realizing the Russia garbage had no basis in any criminal law. He even added the “any other crimes that come up” making this the greatest witch hunt in history. The President was given horrible advice the first year to not challenge this.

Almost every pollster, politico, and pundit knew with almost metaphysical certainty that Hillary would win in 2016. It is patently absurd to think that anybody in Russia thought otherwise. Therefore, it would be against the interest of the Russian government to provide clandestine support for a Trump victory regardless of FSB opinion regarding prospective foreign and military policies of the opposing candidates.

I’ve no doubt that the Russian government was engaged in a disinformation campaign in 2016, but the only strong evidence that has been presented thus far suggests that it was limited to some rather lame FaceBook memes. The evidence that WikiLeaks obtained hacked e-mails from the FSB is not persuasive. The argumentation for the “intelligence community’s assessment” regarding Russian interference is so sorely lacking that it can only believed if one has faith in the veracity of professional liars like Brennan and Clapper.

very good point. I think you are correct that his update was likely to provide some criminal cover for something that otherwise had not crime

Thanks for stating in such a clear fashion what should be obvious to every Freeper.

Of course it is hard to prove guilt of a crime that was made up from whole cloth by the investigators themselves. The fact that “collusion” even with Russians isn’t actually a crime must have made it even more difficult.

Collusion still unproven???

They knew the dossier was complete fabrication. They knew the FISA court applications were bogus. They wanted to prevent Trump from becoming president and when that failed - Nixonize him. They needed to surveil.

They were on a mission from God. They had the direction, love and support of Obama and HRC. They were the darling servants of the ruling elite.

J. Edgar Hoover is spinning in his grave!

LBJ would never have attempted the JFK coup without Hoover. Hoover laid the groundwork long ago for the Russia collusion lies of today.

The FBI agents at the top know there was no collusion between Trump's organization and Russia. That was an invention of the DNC as Russia and WikiLeaks are allegedly behind the Hillary email hacks. Everyone knows it was a lie except the near brain dead fools who vote for the RATS.

Conversely, the harder and deeper we dig, the more GENUINE evidence we find for collusion between Russia and the notoriously traitorous, sleazebag democrats.

Special counsels are only supposed to be used when a crime has already been shown to have been committed, not to search for one. Of course, the media doesn’t care and their kool-aid drinkers believe everything they say.
