Kavanaugh's accuser recovered her memory at the time Dems were panicked Romney would win and nominate him to SCOTUS
Bookworm has noticed an odd coincidence: after telling no one her story about the alleged incident for decades, she suddenly remembered and spoke about it in couples' therapy in 2012, when leftists perceived the possibility that Mitt Romney, ahead in the polls, would win the presidency and appoint Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. She writes:
In 2012, Romney ran against Obama. Up until his 47% gaffe, Romney was doing well. He actually had a shot of winning.
For the Democrats, as has been the case since Bork, having a Republican in the White House, especially with the ever-aging but never retiring Ruth Bader Ginsburg a perpetual risk, raised the specter of a conservative judge getting appointed to the Supreme Court. With that in mind, one Twitter user, who must have an amazing memory, remembered something interesting he'd read back in 2012:

If this outrage is allowed to stand, no conservative nominated to the Supreme Court will ever be confirmed. Conservatives cannot allow this sort of thing to become a club to be used against them in perpetuity.

Actually, Romney has Obama on the ropes after the first debate. Then, he threw the game. I think his NWO handlers were afraid he might get to uppity and gave him a strong reminder that he was picked to be designated loser.

BK is the establishment choice. He’s been in the establishment for years, he was nominated twice by establishment republicans for office.
He would have been a short-list pick for any republican president, he is that good, and that “unpolitical” to protect him from being borked.
I know it seems odd watching this last week or two, but the democrats really have nothing bad they can make stick on him, and that’s why there are hundreds of people on both sides of the spectrum who has said he’s a fine judge and an excellent pick.

Looks to me like the best way to deal with this is for the Senate Judiciary Committee to reconvene its hearings ASAP, call Kavanaugh and his accuser to testify and be cross examined, and hold a vote. That’s what happened with Anita Hill and Thomas was promptly confirmed. A good boxer knows how to roll with a punch.

Who was undecided by then ? Who was going to change their vote because of the debate ?
The polls at the time showed almost a dead heat...yet Pres. Obama buried Romney in the electoral and by about almost 5 million in the popular.
So, were the polls whacked or was it really that close ?

Hillary’s losing total was 100k short of Obama’s winning total in 2012.

Don't know if our precinct was a nationwide symptom but we had just average turnout for a presidential election year in 2012. By 2016, I was judge and we had people lining up 45 minutes before the polls even opened and turnout well above average. Mitt just didn't inspire above average turnout, to put it mildly, whereas Trump did.
Mittens would have picked a Mormon (which would have been a historic first on SCOTUS).
