Senator Dianne Feinstein Won’t Set Up Call for Kavanaugh Accuser to Testify
It’s now official: This entire situation is a farce that needs to end immediately. Anything less shows the Democrats are profoundly unserious about the allegations being made against Brett Kavanaugh.
Over the weekend, Senator Dianne Feinstein made waves by going public with accusations against President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee. First, she revealed that someone who knew Kavanaugh in high school accused him of sexually assaulting her. Then the accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, actually came out publicly.
Senate Republicans tried to pull a fast one on her by challenging her to testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. This was to call her bluff. Ford didn’t fall for it and agreed to testify, putting Republicans back on their heels, as now they have to oblige their own request, further delaying Kavanaugh’s vote.
Now, Democrats should have everything they want. Ford should be able to testify before Congress as to the incident that occurred between her and Kavanaugh some three decades ago. But something is wrong – and it’s leading many Republicans to question both Ford’s and Feinstein’s sincerity.
Senator Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, says that Feinstein isn’t answering his calls to set up a time for Ford to testify. Here’s what he said in a newly released statement:
The standard procedure for updates to any nominee’s background investigation file is to conduct separate follow-up calls with relevant parties. In this case, that would entail phone calls with at least Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford. Consistent with that practice, I asked Senator Feinstein’s office yesterday to join me in scheduling these follow-ups. Thus far, they have refused. But as a necessary step in evaluating these claims, I’ll continue working to set them up.
If Ford is telling the truth, there is no reason to delay. Feinstein is hurting her own credibility by not returning Grassley’s calls.
We already knew Democrats weren’t serious about getting to the bottom of these allegations. Senator Dick Durban already implied as much by suggesting that having Ford testify this week would be too soon. Let’s be very clear on this point: If Feinstein took seriously Ford’s accusations, she would be working diligently to set up a testimony time. The fact that she’s delaying shows she didn’t actually care about Ford. This is all for political show.
I’m not sure how they avoid the hearing with several REPUBLICANS calling for hearing and the others being silent. Set the hearing up for Wednesday and get it over with. Hold the vote Thursday as currently scheduled.
She expects the Republicants to do the heavy lifting.
So they just want to hang it out there and then never do anything about it>

Of course not..all part of the plan..wait til AFTER the midterms..she needs to get her hair done, nails done, she is just too busy for this week..maybe next week, next month, maybe next year
Have the hearing TOMORROW..if she wants to testify SO badly, she is welcome to come tomorrow..so is Kavanaugh..you don’t have to prepare if you are telling the truth..and if she refuses to come tomorrow..say thats it, its OVER..go ahead with the vote

The alleged vic doesn’t want to testify under oath.

Yep, send her a planed ticket and set up the desk with her name tag.
She is serious.
This is a tactic.
The suspicion is still there for the faint of heart, the accusation will remain in the headlines but the accuser is insulated from cross examination by the senate.

Perhaps Feinstein is stalling while Ford is locked in a hotel room with army of lawyers coaching her.
That said, the Senate Judicial committee should hold closed door, publicly televised hearing. Closed door to eliminate the Code Pink type circus.
Hold the hearing with an empty chair.
And if the alleged vic refuses to appear voluntarily, subpoena her.

Diane miscalculated.... She went against the written request for anonymity, and now that its out in the open she doesn’t want her source to be discredited and have to face someone in Brett who knows what is really going on....
Now Diane and Dems are trying to hide behind “ you must believe her regardless defense”
