I’m looking at this from the Medical/Pharmacological side NOT the stupid law/jail side.

I’ve gotten the Answer from GailA and was moving on.

In a moment, after I Post the 40 most common options listed under: Science and Medicine to narrow it down a bit.

Good stuff.

“people who sought evidence-based treatment were rarely able to access it because of the agency’s [DEA] evolving regulatory and enforcement strategies, like blocking the expansion of mobile methadone clinics and shutting down addiction treatment providers without arranging alternatives for affected patients.

“As the engine of overdose deaths shifted from prescription drugs to heroin, the D.E.A. turned to its supply-reduction playbook. This resulted in a major uptick in heroin seizures and high-profile prosecutions, which encouraged traffickers to create more compact, potent drugs. In a single year, from 2014 to 2015, deaths involving the synthetic opioid fentanyl and its analogues almost doubled, setting the stage for its current role as the principal driver of overdose fatalities.”

Did you look at the links on Kolodney and the Biased CDC director I put up. The first owns Suboxone clinics the 2nd is blaming his son’s Heroin Habit on Prescription Opioids. When in truth Intractable pain patients don’t share, or are careless with their meds.

Red has a FB page where he archives his articles. FB page https://www.facebook.com/ATIPUSA/

http://nationalpainreport.com/author/redlawhern

Roger doesn’t do FB. Here is 1 of his articles google will bring up more since he is freelance. https://www.painnewsnetwork.org/stories/2018/3/10/what-the-krebs-opioid-study-didnt-find

https://www.painnewsnetwork.org/stories/2017/12/24/10-myths-about-the-opioid-crisis

If we don’t fight this we will have no pain meds, for me that is Valium, Gastro issues and Opioids don’t mix except for a short time. I’m facing a 2nd thumb surgery in the near future. And Dread it, 1st one didn’t turn out so well.

Can be up into the THOUSANDS for 1 monthly visit. And Seniors on Medicare/Tricare Life are NOT covered for it. That is totally out of pocket. They test for every known addictive drug, plenty out there that aren’t Opioids. Which runs the cost up. Then you see a Under Educated PA or APN, not a real doctor.

If you are a multiple health issue patient a Under Educated NP, APN or PA has no idea how to deal with you. Especially when you see 4 Specialist who have a hard time dealing with your drug reactions they try and treat you with.

200 pain clinics in TN closed in 1 day. Another closed a couple of months ago, that leaves 65 for the entire state. Depending on how sick you are you maybe able to under go a 7-8 hr wait in uncomfortable chairs. I couldn’t, my spine would give out. My feet would swell, and by the time I saw 1 of the Idiots my BP would be near Stage 3 Hypertension from the pain. Last thing I need is a Heart Attack to add to all the rest of the health issues.

MMJ is NOT LEGAL in Tennessee, not even as medical. CBD oil is as close as you get with out the HTC. My 1 experience with it was not satisfactory nor with Kratom.

There is a movement to charge drug dealers/importers with Capital Punishment, and use the Death Penalty on them if a JUNKIE OD’s and dies from their product. That said, they are HARD targets to find as they deal in CASH.

Where as Sick Patients are Soft targets you can get to their docs, hospital, ER, with false arrest like Dr. Tennent, fines, loss of license. That Under Educated APN, excuse for not renewing my Valium was I WON’T RISK MY LICENSE. As she was Ignorant that CDC Guidelines are NOT LAW, and TN Law says I can have 1 month of 20 mg, with 5 refills and not even go near a pain clinic as it’s a Benzo not a Opioid. Which I rarely take because of the Gastropresis.

When I had 6 teeth removed going on 3 weeks now, I got 5 Mg NORCO a whole 16 tablets for 3 days of Pain that lasted 2 weeks. I ate a lot of Ice Cream to bring down the pain, as you can’t use a Ice Pack on dental work.

Off to see the new Cornea doc, to see if he can repair my damaged corneas from the Crap Hypertension drug. 1 of us has to have functioning vision, and hubby’s is NOT repairable. He was Blue Water Navy during Nam plus all the heavy metal cleaning chems they use in electronics and planes which was his MOS. Congress is fighting opening up Agent Orange to the Blue Water Navy for Agent Orange IT IS TO EXPENSIVE.

YOU IDIOTS IN CONGRESS JUST GAVE STREET JUNKIES $3.8 BILLION+, and built 2 Ships the NAVY didn’t want, but denied the funds for the Sensors for those ships.

Ditto. Note to others regarding legal cbd oil in TN, it is not only just hemp derived, but INDUSTRIAL hemp. Hemp cbd is derived only from the seed and the stalk. The seeds contain vitamins A, C and E and beta-carotene and are rich in protein, carbohydrates, minerals and fiber, omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, sterols, aliphatic alcohols and linolenic acids, including alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). Essentially, you'd get the same results from a mult-vitamin. The claims of being a "miracle" drug is a stretch, IMO.

The cbd oil I purchase from is actually grown for medical purposes. It is not industrial grade. I did and continue to do lots of research on both cbd/hemp and cbd/mm. The cbd brand I use is called highland pharms. Here’s the thing with cbd oil. I noticed my joint pain come back after I ran out. I didn’t realize how much it was helping as I used it everyday. But, Joint pain is the least of my problems, the other problem is it’s kind of expensive. I’m kind of between a rock and a hard place. I can’t use anti- inflammatory meds, nor Tylenol on a regular basis. So, in addition to my rx’s, I’m searching for anything that will help.

Once CMS started letting patients know that their low ratings on pain relief during care would decrease money to hospitals .. it only took patients a few years to get their way with endless pain meds. 2007 started it. It’s so bad that CMS has changed the HCAHPS questions.
And before everyone starts whining.. reminder, these are prescriptions and they ARE being sold by patients. Minimum 4000.00 a month tax free income. You would be shocked if you saw who was selling them.
There is a very fine line between dependency on drugs and addiction.
CMS is solely responsible for starting this, it is a dangerous agency that clearly doesn’t know anything about health.

My eldest is on Metformin, pays $4 month co-pay at Walmart, gets his test strips there too.

I had to take my BS for 6 months for the Gastropresis, Test strips were $85 for 100. That is what Medicare/Tricare Life is charged, not that is what they pay. Some one is using the 400% mark up.

Saw the new Cornea doc yesterday, I don’t have ripples on the corneas the Oil glands in the eye lids are clogged up. Which the intern now Cornea Doc this new 1 failed to tell me. But he’s got a new Gadget he’s trying to sell at $950 that is rechargeable, has silicone tips, and will go up your nose and open the glands. Tips have to be bought monthly at $50 a box. They are detachable, wash well with alcohol or peroxide and very warm soapy water would work a lot cheaper. The OLD FASHION way is a rice bean bag you heat in the microwave and use a wet wash rag for moisture to open the glands, it works, $3 bucks worth of rice sewn in a piece of cloth.

Miss read my med list, lumped the TAKE AS NEEDED with the daily, and said I was ADDICTED to VALIUM. DID YOU NOT READ THE HEALTH LIST? Restasis has NO SIDE effects, BS Side effects mimic DRY EYE. Little known fact it will hit GI and autoimmunes and flare them. Not all patients are ‘average’.

Said the Lomotil 2.5 mg causes Gastropresis...Where did you get that garbage from? I had GP over a year before I had my first Lomotil tab. They are a AS NEEDED to avoid a ER Trip, as is the Phenergan and NyStop. THEY ARE NOT DAILY MEDS.

Would not listen that the Valium treated 4 health issues after going through 14 other horrid drugs for FMS/Neuropathy.

Best anti inflammatory known to man is Tumeric. Look up golden milk. I could not continue to work without it.

This is all rubbish.

When I worked in London, we used diacetyl morphine (heroin) all the time for pain, it’s quite effective and lasts a bit longer than morphine sulfate.

The problem with drug addicts is not the drug. It’s the pain they use the drugs to treat. Physical pain, sometimes, psychological pain 95% of the time.

In our current state, we are grinding out damaged people faster than we can help them.
