Trump: I hope voters pay attention to Dem tactics amid Kavanaugh fight

President Trump on Tuesday night said he hopes voters are paying attention to the Democratic "playbook" amid the tumultuous nomination process for his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, which has recently been plagued by sexual assault allegations.

"The Supreme Court is one of the main reasons I got elected President. I hope Republican Voters, and others, are watching, and studying, the Democrats Playbook," Trump tweeted.

Senate Republicans have been determined to get Kavanaugh confirmed before the November midterm elections, where Democrats are hoping to ride out a "blue wave" and retake both chambers of Congress.

But Kavanaugh's confirmation, which until recently was seen as a virtual given, was thrown into doubt after Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said she had sent a secret letter regarding Kavanaugh to the FBI. Amid media reports that the letter contained allegations against Kavanaugh, a California professor named Christine Blasey Ford went public to accuse the nominee of sexually assaulting her at a party in the 1980s.

The public allegations led to calls from members of both parties to delay Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing, which was originally intended for Thursday. A new public hearing, in which both Kavanaugh and Ford were invited to testify, was scheduled for next week.

But a new wrinkle in the proceedings emerged on Tuesday evening when Ford's lawyers sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) asking that the testimony be delayed until the FBI conducted an investigation into the allegations. The request was quickly shot down by Grassley.

Republicans have been critical of the way Feinstein and other Democrats have handled the allegations, with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) likening their tactics to a "drive-by shooting." Trump earlier on Tuesday expressed sympathy for Kavanaugh, saying he felt "badly for him."

The nomination of Kavanaugh, which followed the announcement that Justice Anthony Kennedy was retiring, drew swift criticism from members of the left, who argue the judge poses a threat to women's reproductive rights.

Conservatives, on the other hand, have been largely supportive of Kavanaugh, as well as Trump's other judicial nominations. Senate Republicans have been confirming Trump's court picks at a record pace, as conservatives seek to reshape the country's judiciary.

Sheer BS. Have the vote.

Yep. The Democrats are have bought some time for feminist organizations to rain millions of calls, messages and letters down on several senators to scare them into voting against confirmation. We need to write to our senators.

Same with the midterm elections vote. If we aren’t determined to get to the polls ourselves—each and every one of us—we may well lose too many of the elections. The winning would stop right there.

Dear Donald,

Everybody knows the Democrat Party is sleazy, but the voters are divided into two types. The American voters who are disgusted with Democrat low-life tactics, and the liberal voters who are actaully pleased with Democrat malfeasance.

The request by the accuser’s lawyer for an FBI investigation is possibly the most absurd thing I’ve heard all year (and 2018 has had no shortage of absurdities). What’s to investigate? The allegation itself is the only evidence and can be the only evidence unless and until this sweetheart comes up with more details.

They certainly are. They’re acting more and more insane and showing their true, ugly colors and normal, decent people see it and don’t like it.

haha...when the Solomon interview video ended, automatically came a PBS/Judy Woodruff video which opens Woodruff saying Bob Woodward’s description is of “a chaotic” White House, full of fear etc -
video is called:

Trump ‘doesn’t understand the basics,’ says ‘Fear’ author Bob Woodward
In his new book, the veteran editor and reporter delivers a stunning and disturbing look inside the Trump presidency, exposing a chaotic White House, lead by a man who has said he believes the key to power is “Fear.” Woodward joins Judy Woodruff to discuss his reporting...

Right - that just indicates to me the whole thing was bogus and orchestrated from the get-go - if that’s what they wanted they would have sent the letter to the FBI and they would have included in their background report from the beginning of the process back in July - now they want it to where it would be impossible for the confirmation to be completed in time - they are following the Dem playbook. And why did they have her just out of the blue take polygraph back in August? This behavior does not indicate any of this is genuine.

This DiFi stunt is just a stall tactic of course. If the Rs fall for it then it will show they really don’t want Trump to get the credit for filling the seat and they’re willing to use this garbage as an excuse.

Coronary-due Collins, Porker Corker and the phony Flake comes to mind here.
