Dem strategist: 'Genuine concern' Russia will escalate interference efforts in 2018

Democratic strategist Jennifer Holdsworth on Wednesday expressed concerns about possible Russian interference in the upcoming midterm elections, warning of the possibility of escalated meddling efforts.

"I think that there is a genuine concern that there's going to be an elevation in the meddling," Holdsworth, chief revenue officer at targeting firm DSPolitical, told Hill.TV's Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton on "Rising."

"I freely admit that there has been no proof that there were actual votes changed in 2016, but look at what the Russians did get away with," she continued.

"When a criminal sees that they can get away with something, they're going to escalate to the next crime, and I think that there is a real possibility that this happens in the midterms," she said.

U.S. intelligence officials have said they are concerned about the possibility of Russia interfering in the November midterm elections after their efforts to meddle in the 2016 presidential election.

“I’m sure they went to school to critique what they did in the presidential election in 2016. I think they will find more ways to be subtle, and be a lot less noisy than they were the last time," former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told Politico last month.

An NPR/Marist survey released earlier this week found that one in three American adults said they think a foreign country is likely to impact results in November's midterm elections.

Kelsey Harkness, a reporter at the conservative Heritage Foundation's Daily Signal, pushed back on the survey's findings.

"It sounds like one in three Americans are watching too much CNN and MSNBC, buying into a lot of the conspiracy theories that they're peddling relating to this Russian meddling in the elections," she asserted on Hill.TV.

"They [Americans] do not have faith in our voting system. I think that's very dangerous to our democracy to basically cheapen our votes, and have Americans say that they feel like their votes might not matter," she added.

Exactly.

And note how lame the excuse is. 'We don't know what the Russians did or how they did it but they did something and they're going to do it again.'

I hear the Russkies are martialing hordes of dead people and illegals to vote. And organizing thousands to vote multiple times.

The Dims are getting ready for their loss in November.
They’re bringing out the “Russia Russia Russia” card.

The GOP should introduce a bill mandating paper ballots nationwide. No way for Russians to really hack those.

Then enjoy the stuck pigs squealing in protest.

From this time forward -
Every political race Republicans win will be illegitimate.
Every political race Democrats win will be a mandate from the people.

“Already constructing the “why we lost” narrative.”

You beat me to it! The RATs will never accept the fact that they country is in the process of turning away from them. They will drift further Left in a failed attempt to garner the loony toon vote. If we had an even-handed media that would actually tell the populace exactly what the RATs really want to do, the RATs would simply cease to exist as a major Political Party.

Any efforts to skew the election by Russia are totally insignificant compared to the open and clandestine efforts of Google, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon and Democrat machines.

Nothing is going to stop or even mitigate efforts by Russia or the United States or many other countries to “interfere” in the political processes of other countries. It is something rulers have always done since there were governments.

There was no “Russian meddling” last time and there won’t be next time. I’m still waiting for the proof that there was. Based on FBI word?

"... concerns about possible Russian interference in the upcoming midterm elections, warning of the possibility of escalated meddling efforts."

Well why not...the American MSM, Liberal talking heads and far left have certainly shown them the way.

And just why would the Russian left cheat to help the American right?

They couldn’t help but notice how effective our left is at creating discord when they lose.

They don’t really have to do much of anything, just leave a few tracks. They are living rent free in the heads of the left.

Yeah, I’m also wondering about the Dem’s internal polls. I ignore the “Blue Wave coming” polls touted by the MSM, but this Russia, Russia, Russia will be to blame if the Dems lose is lame.

Voter ID would solve this and many other problems. Do I hear crickets from the Dems?

DEMOCRATS: Either we win control of Congress or, obviously, the Russians must have helped the Republicans, because there’s no way the American People can be against us.
