The numbers: The number of Americans who applied for unemployment benefits in mid-September fell to a fresh 49-year low, more proof that a growing labor shortage and surging economy have given workers greater job security.

Initial jobless claims, a rough proxy for layoffs, fell by 3,000 to 201,000 in the seven days ended Sept. 15. That’s below the 208,000 MarketWatch forecast and marks the lowest level since Nov. 12, 1969.

I am sure that some of this is now demographic as well. The baby boomers, born at the end of the war are falling out of the marketplace in record numbers.

I appreciate the economy is going gangbusters. I know—I just tried to fill two jobs which would have taken a week four years ago. Its taken a month and a dearth of applications of people who cannot pass a criminal or drug background test.

Fun stuff.

Notice how it spikes as soon as the democrats took over in 2008?

They only want us to look at 2010 on (when the GOP took over congress)

Can you imagine the numbers by spring of 2019? We might be going back to comparisons to the early 1950s?

Have you posted on the door, window or computer screen a notice that the applicant will be subject to a DRUG & CRIMINAL BACKGROUND TEST?

Might weed out a few from the start...............

And to the retarded liberal democrats, this is grounds for impeachment.

The skills gap is also very problematic for employers. The public school system cannot produce enough competent workers because it has been destroyed by liberals. There are also legions of college grads who do not have adequate preparation for careers or possess sufficient skills to qualify for entry level jobs.

The misguided educational policies of the past are retarding our economic growth.

All a function of getting government off of people’s backs. Confidence is driving things now.

Liberals are running scared. All this winning is showing just how damaging their destructive and costly policies have been.

This is very good for black and Hispanic support — everyone for that matter. This is what will turn things around in our dangerous neighborhoods.
