Russian Election Authorities Annul Results Of Fraud-Marred Regional Vote

Electoral authorities in Russia's Far Eastern Primorye region annulled the result of a disputed gubernatorial runoff vote, after the country's top election official said it was marred by "serious violations."

A total of 12 members of Primorye's election commission on September 20 voted in favor of the annulment of the result of the closely contested vote in the region, where the Communist Party cried foul after the Kremlin-backed incumbent surged ahead at the end of the ballot count. One election commission member voted against the proposal.

It is the first time a runoff has been annulled in Russia since 1996, according to media reports.

Straight up, a fraudulent election annulled. I believe the United Russia party who fraudulently won may have been favored by leadership. It really shows how dishonest the government is. But they couldn't withstand this though it appears who actually won, were the Communists.

United Russia tried to steal the election from the Communists.

The fraud was too blatant even for the authorities.

I’ve spoken to some Russians in the internet and they have said that although they don’t like communism they vote for the communist party as a F-U to the United Russia (Putin’s party) as this is the only thing they can do to show their dissatisfaction.

Putin doesn’t allow real opposition. He only allows clowns like the communists or ultra-nationalists like Zhirinovski.
