UPDATE: Approximately 90 minutes after the expiration of the 10:00 p.m. deadline, Chairman Grassley took to Twitter, where he made clear that, despite his repeated extensions, he is offering yet another extension to Christine Blasey Ford’s legal team, presumably until Saturday, for her to decide whether to testify, in line with attorney Deborah Katz’s demands:

Iowans are all about “fairness” and being good sports. Don’t worry, Grassley can be as hard as Hickory when he has to be, but he knows the optics of this situation are fraught with danger to the Republican Party.

Republicans have always been their own worst enemy. I would love to be crazy as a loon so I could be a “RAT” and at least belong to a party that fights to win.
They are still meeting with many judges on the docket to discuss. Wonder what that means?
Chuck Schumer is the “orchestra leader”? So we elected all those Republicans for nothing? I thought the GOP had a majority in the Senate. I guess I was wrong. Chuck Schumer is actually in charge?
Please someone give me a reason to vote for Republicans. Yes, I know if we don’t vote for the GOP then the dems will win and that will supposedly be worse, and I understand that.

I agree. It doesn’t matter what he does, he will still be accused of being unreasonable and a bully. But, hopefully, he will be able to get some credit from rational independents that he made every reasonable attempt to give her a forum to air her grievance.
I still don’t think she’ll testify.
Schumer may be acting like an a$$ in the meetings so business is difficult to conduct.

I'm frustrated, too, but he works very hard and is probably tired. I must give him the benefit of the doubt. I pray that his health holds because he is in his 80's, very articulate. He seems like a decent man although I've never met him.
If he doesn't bend over backwards to accommodate the accuser , people could suffer in the midterms and the press will go rabid for days on all involved in this sideshow nobody needed. Except Democrats.

This much patience in an 80 year old man amazes me. I’m late 60’s and I haven’t any. Some old timers want to be liked. Some of us don’t give a damn. Right now the country comes first. Get it done.
