I really dislike Chris Stirewalt and it's compounded because they allow him to be an election analyst on Fox News. He never has a favorable view on Republicans and anything positive for the party causes him to look absolutely constipated.
Tonight he jumped the anti-republican shark with his crazy explanation of why the GOP has an historic favorability rating and is viewed more positively than the Democrat party.
According to Stirewalt, it's because "people band together when they are facing dire straights". The Republicans are facing loss of the House, loss on Kavenaugh, and Trump attacked every day.
Ok Chris, so how come that historical graph didn't show Republicans as more popular when Nixon resigned, or when McCain / Romney were defeated, etc?
Never occurred to Stirewalt that a record economy just might have caused the American people to view the party responsible more favorably.
He then topped off his illogic by saying it made no sense to him that Republicans might blame their party and stay home if Kavenaugh is defeated.
And finally he focused on Republicans being behind in Arizona and Florida. Not a single bit of good news for the party most Americans now view favorably.
Chris Stirewalt is a Trump and republican hating Democrat plant, and another reason I know the powers behind Fox News are liberal Democrats.
Unless you are referring to straight jackets, it’s ‘straits.’

The only advice I could give is stop watching. It’s easy to go a week without FOX like literally 99% of the country does. I always looked at them as deliberately insulting me so I don’t watch. The last time I watched Baer,Wallace and the rest was after first republican presidential primary debate in 2015. I could only imagine having that drivel implanted in my brain.
One thing that has helped me be a happy person is the realization that it is futile to argue with deranged people.
There comes a point in a conversation/debate when you realize that your friend/opponent is either disingenuous or simply not grounded in logic. That is the time to cut it off and politely excuse yourself... for your own sake.
It is the old “pearls before swine” analogy from the Bible. I don’t know about you, but I have far too few pearls to be offering them to illogical swine.
‘Never Trumpers’ hate Trump because he is a non-politician outsider who showed the world how incompetent and pathetic career politicians and those attached to them are. It's really that simple.
