Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyers said Wednesday they have given the Senate sworn affidavits from four people who say she told them well before Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination that she had been sexually assaulted when she was much younger.
And according to all four, she either named Kavanaugh as the assailant or described the attacker as a “federal judge.”
At the U.N., meanwhile, President Donald Trump said on the eve of the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Kavanaugh and Ford that Republicans have been “nice” and “respectful” in their treatment of Ford. He described his nominee as “a real gem” and said he probably would have pushed for faster confirmation rather than waiting for Ford’s testimony.
In one of the affidavits, family friend Keith Koegler said he wrote to Ford in a June 29 email, “I remember you telling me about him, but I don’t remember his name,” family friend Keith Koegler wrote to Ford in a June 29 email, according to his statement. “Do you mind telling me so I can read about him?”
“Brett Kavanaugh,” Ford responded by email, according to Koegler, her son’s baseball team coach.
Trump nominated Kavanaugh, 53, to the high court on July 9. Kavanaugh staunchly denies ever sexually assaulting anyone, and his allies have questioned the credibility of Ford and a second accuser based in part on what they say is a lack of corroboration. Trump has dismissed both accusations as a “Democratic con job.”
The affidavits signed Monday and Tuesday of this week could give more weight to Ford’s story on the eve of her testimony — and Kavanaugh’s expected denial — before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Go to a hundred judges, and I suspect that 99 of them will tell you the statements are of no value. If this had occurred a year or two after the event....maybe they would have value. But in this case...no.
What is on display right now is the left’s ardent want to usurp the rule of law and millenia of legal precedent (e.g. presumption of innocence) in lieu of some sick, mob rule mentality that should be taken serious at any cost.
Americans should be tingling with concern about all of this. If the left gets their way, American law becomes no different than what Spain saw during the inquisition.

Ford’s attorneys present declarations from Ford’s husband, Russell, and three friends who support the California college professor’s accusation that Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed, groped her and attempted to pull off her clothes while both were high school students in 1982.

In her declaration, Adela Gildo-Mazzon said Ford told her about the alleged assault during a June 2013 meal at a restaurant in Mountain View, California, and contacted Ford’s attorneys on Sept. 16 to tell them Ford had confided in her five years ago. …
In another declaration, Keith Koegler said Ford revealed the alleged assault to him in 2016, when the two parents were watching their children play in a public place and discussing the “light” sentencing of Stanford University student Brock Turner. …

OK, here’s my take...
THAT’s NOT CORROBORATION.
It’s evidence that she TALKED ABOUT the allegations, but more than THREE DECADES LATER.
Actual corroboration would be much more CONTEMPORANEOUS.
But still, it would tend to establish that this didn’t come up recently through a memory-recall session with Democratic activists.
Seems TIME doesn’t know what corroborate means.
Funny how these statements appear now, and not when Ford first sent her letter a few months ago.

I read this as someone that heard nothing but hearsay. Was he a witness? This should not be admissible.

I’d like to know what physical injuries she had from an attempted rape.
These are very DEFENSIVE statements for Ford. They do nothing to corroborate her allegation, and their only (weak) value to Ford is to help her refute any argument that she fabricated the story in 2018.
Talk about damning with faint praise.
This is Time. If it was substantial, they'd lead with the word BOMBSHELL or something like that.
