We live over the hill to the east of the Tesla plant. Truckloads of Model 3’s go up I680 here every day. I don’t own a Tesla, but they are beautifully crafted automobiles. Our little town is full of them. They are an ideal urban/suburban mode of transportation. And they are FAST! Just watched a video of “supercars” doing a combined 1/4 mile drag race on the runway down at Vandenburg AFB. The Tesla beat ALL OF THEM! Ferrari, Lamborghini, Corvette, you name it. Now they’re going to go to a 1/2 mile event in hopes of the super cars with gas engines having a better chance of overtaking the Tesla. So much to say, electric propulsion is an ideal source for an automobile. Over time, the electric car will predominate as battery technology and solar arrays improve. And I say that as an IC engine guy!

that’s not what the SEC charges are about ... the SEC charges are that: 1.) As CEO of a publicly traded company, Musk made materially misleading public statements; and 2.) As CEO of a publicly traded company, Musk failed to notify the SEC of materially relevant fiduciary data ...

Okay, I can see one. What's the penalty for that? But what is 2) Are they saying that the BO comment was misleading but Musk should have notified the SEC of the data behind the misleading comment anyway? Or was their some other failure to notify?

no doubt, particularly the patents ... but it’s extremely unlikely that the pieces will be worth what the stock is selling for right now ... the pieces will be picked up for pennies on the dollar as some point down the road, possibly in some kind of buyout right before bankruptcy or possible in a pre-packaged bankruptcy ...

that’s a VERY limited market, however, and will quickly saturate, particularly with lots of competition from other luxury autos in the same price range ...
