The Polish filmmaker, still a fugitive due to a statutory rape case, will direct Oscar-winner Jean Dujardin in the film based on the Dreyfus Affair.

Roman Polanski, who has spent four decades as the accused, will explore one of the most famous miscarriages of justice in his new film, J'Accuse.

French producers Legende Films confirmed that Polanski, who fled the U.S. after admitting to the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl in 1977, will begin shooting on the film in Paris later this year.2018 by Scott Roxborough

Well Hollywood let's compare: Roman Polanski admitted to the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl in 1977.........

Gee, that was 41 years ago, there was a court case.

in March 1977 Polanski, who was then 43, took a child, Samantha Gailey (now Geimer), who he knew was 13 years old, to Jack Nicholson’s house to take photos of her for a magazine. There, he gave her champagne and, according to her, quaaludes. He then had sex with her, drove her home and, the next day, was arrested.

The facts have never altered. What has changed is how this case is discussed in the public sphere. For a long time, the simple – and somewhat simplistic - divide was that while people in mainland Europe viewed Polanski as a tragic artist undone by US prurience and corruption, Americans saw him, as he put it in his autobiography, as “an evil, profligate dwarf”. But, in truth, for many British and US actors, working with Polanski never lost its cachet, and arguably had even more once he became excluded from the US mainstream. Sigourney Weaver, Harrison Ford, Johnny Depp, Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Kate Winslet and many more have appeared in Polanski movies in the decades since his conviction, and questions about why they were working with a convicted child rapist were seen as tacky, proof of a rigid mind more focused on gossip than art. When Winslet was asked last September whether she had any qualms about working with Woody Allen, another director accused (but, unlike Polanski, never arrested and never charged) of a sex crime against a minor, she replied: “Having thought it all through, you put it to one side and just work with the person. Woody Allen is an incredible director. So is Roman Polanski. I had an extraordinary working experience with both of those men, and that’s the truth.”

It wasn’t like “rape rape” so who cares?

For the Sheldons here, that was sarcasm.

Roman Polanski admitted to drugging and having sex with a child, so I would ask Whoopi what exactly would constitute Rape Rape if not what Roman Polanski did to a drugged child?

Weird, right? I have seen numerous hollyweird liberals defend Polanski. what he did is absolutely disgusting.

They want to hang Judge K because he was accused of feeling up a girl while both were minors, even though none of it happened.

It has been a long time since I read about this case but I think it involved drugging her before raping her,

In other words forcible rape, not just statutory rape.

No bounty hunters ever endeavored to corral this felon?

If there was nothing wrong with it, why didn’t Polanski stay here, face the charges like a man, and get the law changed so he could rape any child he desired to?

Polanski is a hero to them, knowing damn well what he did.

These same bottom feeding knuckle dragging asses, are dead sure Kavanaugh is a thug, even though not one scrap of evidence can be found.

It’s hard to believe the entertainment industry can’t figure out why we loathe them.

And yet, Kavanaugh... oh, why even bother saying it. We know they’re all hypocritical whores.

He's an artiste, and therefore not subject to ordinary morality.

Which, ironically, is exactly the theory of Leopold and Loeb, thrill killers of a child 94 years ago, in 1924.

***The Polish filmmaker, still a fugitive due to a statutory rape case***

He should a had Hillary as his L-l-l-a-wyer. She got a man accused of raping a 12 year old girl off by blaming it on the girl, then laugh about it.

He used muscle relaxants to enable the rapes. From Wiki:

In March 1977, film director Roman Polanski was arrested and charged in Los Angeles with five offenses against Samantha Geimer, a 13-year-old girl[1] – rape by use of drugs, perversion, sodomy, lewd and lascivious act upon a child under 14, and furnishing a controlled substance to a minor.[2] At his arraignment, Polanski pleaded not guilty to all charges[3] but later accepted a plea bargain whose terms included dismissal of the five initial charges[4] in exchange for a guilty plea to the lesser charge of engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse.[4][5]

Polanski underwent a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation,[6] and a report was submitted to the court recommending probation.[7] However, upon learning that he was likely to face imprisonment and deportation,[5][8] Polanski fled to France in February 1978, hours before he was to be formally sentenced.[9] Since then Polanski has mostly lived in France and has avoided visiting countries likely to extradite him to the United States.

So forcible rape, perversion, sodomy and lewd and lascivious acts against a minor of 13 years of age. And not a US citizen.

She wasn't even 15, like saint Ford.

The reason “Hollywood” are neither shocked nor repulsed by Polanski’s behavior is because most of them engage in similar (or worse) behavior.

That’s Hollywood.
