Reminds me of the Martha Moxley murder,something I've done some research on (too much free time,I guess).The police first suspected one of the Skakel sons,who admitted having been with the girl on the evening she was killed.In order to clear him the father hired a NYC Private Investigator to get the "facts".
Turns out that they concluded that another son,not the original suspect,did it.At that point the father shut the thing down...but the report was leaked to the press.
According to Democrat standards, if she makes the allegation it’s true and he’s guilty.

Yup,I knew that.I was at the hearing a few years ago in Connecticut where he was seeking a new trial. I got to meet Mrs Moxley briefly.A very nice lady.And I was there on the day when he testified under oath.I heard him accuse the live-in "tutor",I heard him blame "two black guys" and I heard him blame his own brother.I kid you not.
If it turns out he doesn't go back to prison at least he got more time than OJ.

I’m questioning if an investigation occurred at all.
