Lindsey Graham: Trump should renominate Kavanaugh if we are one vote short in US Senate.

Lindsey Graham’s suggestion to Trump is that Trump in the event of Kavanaugh falling short by one vote, Trump should renominate Kavanaugh and take it straight to the voters in states like North Dakota, Missouri, Indiana, West Virginia and other states that Trump won by big margins, which have Democratic Senators and let the voters decide if Kavanaugh gets to sit in the US Senate, otherwise, Kavanaughh’s life would have been ruined for nothing. Graham is still confident that Kavanagh will be confirmed though.

This is a good idea ONLY if you are 100% sure that you will maintain or increase your Senate seats.

It would definitely, bring out the vote in November.

I hate to count my chickens, buy I’m thinking we may pick up 4-6 Senate seats.

Florida? This should be a cake walk.

Looks like Montana, ND, Tenn, Missouri for sure and maybe W Va

I think we owe Kavanaugh at least that if the Republican Senate let's America down.

Maybe Lindsay grew a pair (at last), but the rest of those losers don’t have a clue. I don’t remember ANY of the others pointing out that “Doctor Ford” has absolutely NO PROOF of her silly accusations, and wonder why they’re even entertaining them, given that the dippy idiot can’t even recall where or when the “assault” took place.

I guess asking the Republicans to grow a pair is useless - but, hey, if it can happen to Graham it can happen to any of them.

My scenario: 1) He gets confirmed 50-50. 2) GOP wins BIG in November. 3) He RESIGNS at the end of his first term(2019) and puts himself out there for the next opening for payback purposes. Give them hell. Life’s a bitch.

My thoughts are that Lindsey is a natural follower. He afixes himself to an alpha dog and becomes that persons clone. Until a couple of months ago it was John McCain. Since his absence from the Senate, he’s drifted more and more towards a, dare I say it, Trumpian perspective.

I am hoping we’re all learning the lesson that all of these Democrat tricks in the end rely on our side to cave and withdraw.

This entire strategy was predicated on the belief that Kavanaugh would withdraw if the heat got cranked high enough.

That is not going to happen, and they have no other end game. Hence they are flailing.

I believe this is the case in the vast majority of the dirty tricks. Refuse to back down and they will fail.

Wow...planting old McNasty in the ground has been a real positive boost for Senator Graham.

Sounds like an idea that should be very seriously considered. This election is vital--and the Supreme Court nominees are vital. America is in the balance!

I have been saying this for weeks!

It’s a PERFECT Trump ‘In Your Face’ type of maneuver!

I don’t think it’s a good idea to (publicly) say that Kavanaugh might be defeated.

He's got a point, and the sudden change in him now that a certain person is no longer around to blackmail him is admirable.

Interesting gamesmanship on his part though. One one hand, just bringing it up is kinda like accepting the premise that Kavanaugh might not make it, which isn't helpful.

OTOH, he offers the possibility to Manchin, Heitkamp, et al, that if this doesn't work out we're coming after YOU!! He knows that Flake is an ambitious traitor and he will vote no.

I've gotta say, if he keeps this up for awhile I'm going to take back every bit of ridicule I've ever spoken about him.

Why such an absence on FR of "I miss McCain" posts?

I still really like the delicious idea of, in the event he is not confirmed (I think he will be), the President replacing Sessions with Kavanaugh as AG.
