The 10 Most Vulnerable Senators: Cruz, Menendez Make the List
rollcall ^ | October 4, 2018

Posted on 10/04/2018 10:43:47 AM PDT by SMGFan

For the first time this cycle, the senators on the list of most vulnerable incumbents have changed.

Operatives in both parties agree Democratic Sens. Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Bob Casey of Pennsylvania are favored to win re-election even though they are running in states that backed President Donald Trump in 2016. Texas Republican Ted Cruz and New Jersey Democrat Robert Menendez replace them on the list.

Red-state Democrats still dominate, with North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp remaining in the top spot. Nevada Republican Dean Heller is still the second-most vulnerable incumbent with the wind at Democrats’ backs this midterm.

Strategists on both sides say it’s too early to know how the battle over Trump’s Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh could shake up these Senate races. His nomination hangs in the balance after Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony last week that he sexually assaulted her when they were in high school.

PA is lost.

Nobody west of Sunbury seems to know who Lou Barletta is.
And now that I am FINALLY seeing his yard signs in Pittsburgh they say only “LOU!”

Not enough to overcome nearly four-decades of inertia for anything named Casey. What morons are running this campaign?

I can’t believe the people of our state support wife beating tax cut rejecting Sherrod Brown. I do wish a candidate better than Renacci had been selected.

I’m sorry, I never bought Beto. I was just in Texas and it looks like he is self destructing, bigly.

I wouldn’t bet on anything. Especially PA. The Brett Bump is real. After the last few days I suspect Cruz is ve3ry safe in Texas.

Are they morons or are they folks just happy to have a check cut and really don’t care? Seen that, throughout the decades.

That list is about right. Note that almost all are Democrats. Win 8 seats and lose two failing Republicans, that is still a great net gain!

Two Reps out of ten the most vulnerable. Hard to believe that Cruz is vulnerable in TX. It may be his gaffe at the Convention failing to endorse Trump and telling people to vote their conscience. That said, Cruz should win fairly easily.

I don't buy Menendez being vulnerable in corrupt NJ. Voter fraud will take him over the top.

I’ve never bought the Leftist wishful thinking that Beta winning in Texas was a thing. His politics are right for New York or California - where he got all his campaign cash - but totally wrong for Texas.

Heitkamp is toast.

Nelson is going to lose.

I don’t know about the rest but hope their no votes on Kavanaugh doom Donnelly, Tester and especially McCaskill. Maybe Wisconsin is a Republican pickup?

Menendez is a scumbag but I can’t see New Jersey electing a Republican.

I think Baldwin’s gonna carry Tennessee.

Nevada and Arizona are tossups. That’s rather disappointing for Arizona.

THAT is the big problem with the GOP in our state.

Persistent rumors are they are just as happy to let the Democrats have their way, as they are all finding ways to profit off of profligate Democrat spending.

And, by the weight of all evidence, that appears to be true.
