Kavanaugh vote: What time, what channel, how to watch Saturday’s confirmation vote

What’s going on now: Senators – mostly Democrats, who have said they plan to use the 30 hours of debate granted by the cloture motion – have been delivering speeches to a nearly empty chamber since midday Friday. The speeches will likely continue through Saturday, up until the call for the vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination.

What time: The vote will come at the end of the 30-hour period that began on Friday at 10:52 a.m. EDT. The vote is expected to be taken sometime between 4:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. EDT.

What channel: Cable news networks and network channels will be broadcasting the Senate vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination. You can also watch the vote on C-SPAN 2.

Livestream: You can watch the Senate livestream by clicking here.

What has to happen for Kavanaugh to be confirmed: If no senator changes his or her cloture vote, then Kavanaugh will be confirmed by a vote of 51-49.

Sen. Steve Daines, R-Montana, will be attending his daughter’s wedding on Saturday in Montana, so, unless his vote is needed for the nomination to pass, he may not return to Washington to vote.

If no senator changes his or her cloture vote and Daines does not return to vote, the vote would likely be 50-49.

Sen. Steve Daines, R-Montana

Was he a “yes” vote?

Democrats may be a no show. 51 Senators needed for a quorum. Could be an issue?

Yes, but traitor Sen. Murkowski, who was going to vote ‘No’ will vote ‘Present’ so that he doesn’t have to come back to vote.

If no rats show up, 51 needed. The Montana Senator may be needed.

not exactly. her voting present doesn’t do anything in reality, only in her mind and she is only doing it because her vote doesn’t matter anyway, if it did she would not be voting present.

There’s an article in the NY Daily news today where the left/domestic enemies, says they are going to riot. I say make the arrests now. The cops know where these terror groups are organizing, do it now and protect property.

Here’s more info:

“A quorum requires that there must be 51 senators present in order for the Senate to do business, while the House requires that the majority of the membership - or 218 representatives - are present. The number required for the House of Representatives may vary if there are absences.

Often times, there will be fewer representatives or senators present on the floor than required, but a quorum will not be called unless someone requests roll. In the Senate, for example, it is assumed that there is quorum present until someone calls for roll. This is also the same for the House of Representatives. Any member may request that a quorum roll is put in place before they put something to vote.”

At least one democrat would be have to be present to call for this, and therefore ... 51

There is nothing else to pull.

Now that Kavanaugh is going to be confirmed they will shift their rhetoric to delegitimizing the court...

“he may not return to Washington to vote”

So if his plane goes down, there will be even more drama.

"Democrats may be a no show. 51 Senators needed for a quorum. Could be an issue?"

That is what a "Sergeant-at-Arms" is for....to go out and grab the recalcitrant bastards and frog-march them to the Senate chamber. Never happen, of course, but I can fantasize.
