Meng Hongwei was not on French soil when he was last seen, according a senior French law enforcement official, who declined to say whether he was in China.
Meng's wife went to police in Lyon, where Interpol is based, Thursday night to report his disappearance, according to a statement released by the French Interior Ministry on Friday. The spouse told police that she had last heard from him 10 days ago and had recently received threats via social networks and by telephone, according to the statement. "France is looking into the situation of the President of Interpol and is concerned about the threats his wife has received," the statement said.

There are various Chinese businessmen who up and vanish....some reappearing months later. About three years ago....some shoe company CEO and the financial officer disappeared for three months. The company was surging up and actually making a fair amount of profit. After they reappeared....nothing much was said. It might be Chinese intelligence...or the Chinese mafia.

He hasn’t disappeared, just blended back into the Politburo safe home after successfully transferring tons of important data. Huge spying implications. Why would anyone think otherwise? What better place to find incriminating info than Interpol? The repercussions will be forever.

Unbelieveable! One has to wonder if we are living in some kind of alternate universe some times. This is truly crazy. Why haven’t we been aware of this before.
